Ep. 268: Joe Sanok On Changing Your Narratives & Reinventing Yourself

Greetings, SuperFriends! Today we are joined by Joe Sanok. Joe is a keynote and TEDx speaker, business consultant, and podcaster. He is the host the #1 podcast for counselors, The Practice of the Practice Podcast, and has interviewed the likes of Pat Flynn, John Lee Dumas, and Lewis Howes! Joe is also a writer for PsychCentral, has been featured on the Huffington Post, Forbes, GOOD Magazine, Reader's Digest, Entrepreneur on Fire, and Yahoo News. I wanted to have Joe on the show because when I was on his show, he mentioned a few things that I didn't have enough knowledge about, like the concept of "family of origin" - and I wanted to learn more. I also wanted Joe on the show because he not only had a psychiatry practice, but also has built a business consulting other practices. We had an amazing conversation, we talked about psychology, and how really to engage in personal transformation - which means how you can completely reinvent yourself! Ep. 267: Geoffrey Woo On The Power Of Ketosis And The Importance Of Fasting

Greetings, SuperFriends! Today we are joined by Geoffrey Woo. Geoffrey works closely with researchers at Oxford University and professional athletes to further our understanding of ketosis and human performance. A former computer scientist, he applies a systems engineering mindset to nutrition & performance you don't often see in the space. He's been in Forbes 30 under 30, he has sold Silicon Valley company at age 23, he is author of 2 US Patents, he has published various scientific papers, and much more. I wanted to have Geoffrey on the show because we've talked about ketosis, fasting, and other things like that, but we've never talked about the extremes. For example, exogenous ketones, what happens in the body during ketosis, or whether you should be going into ketosis if you are just the average human being. So, I wanted to dive deeper and really get a feel for whether or not this is applicable to real humans. I think I got some really good answers, I certainly learned a lot about ketosis and fasting, and it really doubled down my motivation to fast more, both intermittently and in extended fasts, and to try out some new things. I really enjoyed this episode, and I'm sure you will as well! -Jonathan Levi

Ep. 265: How All Forms Of Light Affect Our Sleep And Our Health W/ Andy Mant

Greetings, SuperFriends! Today we are joined by Andy Mant. Andy is the founder and CEO of BluBlox, a company that specializes in evidence-based advanced light-filtering eyewear. Andy started Blublox not only after becoming dissatisfied with the quality and standards of other blue-light-blocking products out there, but also because he had gained a ton of weight and had all kinds of issues with chronic fatigue and lacking in energy. When traditional diet and exercise didn't work for him, he turned towards the research himself, and became a biohacker. So, today he is a leading figure in understanding how all forms of light, not just the light from our screens, can affect our health and well-being. He and his team have developed all different kinds of products, and Andy even gave us an insight into some of the crazy products that they are in the process of developing. I wanted to have Andy on the show not just to talk about light blocking glasses, but because I wanted to go much deeper into the research around light as a whole. In the episode, we expanded on the blue light from our screens, and we discovered that some products or apps are better than others. We also talked about sunlight, what times of day you need to be exposed to it, how to know if you are getting enough sunlight in your life, and many more things around the all-important thing we all do in our daily lives, sleep. In this episode, though, we went deeper, as I for the first time got a chance to talk to a mycologist and someone who is actually a registered herbalist. So, we went far and wide, and we really started to understand, throughout the episode, just how many things mushrooms can do, how little we understand, and how important it is for us to start incorporating these in our routine.
