How to Survive the End of the World

Decolonize the Body
We are Earthseed. We are flesh—self aware, questing, problem-solving flesh. We are that aspect of Earthlife best able to shape God knowingly. We are Earthlife maturing, Earthlife preparing to fall away from the parent world. We are Earthlife preparing to take root in new ground, Earthlife fulfilling its purpose, its promise, its Destiny. - Octavia Butler, Earthseed verses

Completion Matters
"To survive, let the past teach you. Past customs, struggles, leaders and thinkers. Let these help you. Let them inspire you, warn you, give you strength. But beware, God is change. Past is past. What was cannot come again. To survive, know the past, let it touch you, then let the past go." - Octavia Butler, Earthseed
When we talk about the end of the world, we need to think about what is ending. This episode is about exploring endings large and small.

Let the Ancestors Speak
We want you to know more about who we are. We thought one way to do that is to open a window on to our creative practices of writing fiction, which leads into a conversation about channeling our ancestors.
We believe we're in an imagination battle right now and that we're living in a world, and in power dynamics, someone else created. So, it's our responsibility to counter-imagine what we actually want and need to create futures that are viable for more and more of us. And some of the work of creating those futures is writing fiction.
