BTP 91: The Lumina Tarot with Lauren Aletta from Inner Hue
Today, we’re speaking with Lauren Aletta from Inner Hue. Lauren is the creator of two Tarot decks: the Lumina Tarot and the Connected & Free Alchemist’s Oracle. Now, I am a big fan of modern-looking Tarot decks. I believe that modern decks created by independent artists help bring new people to Tarot – and I’m all about bringing Tarot into the mainstream. Lauren recently sent me both the Connected & Free oracle deck and the Lumina Tarot. The Connected & Free deck is designed to support you in connecting with your own inner wisdom, soul guidance and natural intuitive abilities to navigate the landscape of life. It has 50 oracle cards held safely together in a cute rustic mandala drenched brown box with the 133pg Guidebook that offers not only each card’s meaning but also crystal suggestions for an added energetic boost. Within the 50 cards are also 8 chakra cards to potentially highlight any energetic blocks or expansions are occurring. This is the second edition of the Oracle cards. The Lumina Tarot is also now on its’ second edition – and it melds animal magick, archetypal energy and symbolism together in potent visual imagery that will support you in accessing your own intuitive abilities. It comes with a 185-page guidebook and offers both yin & yang, light & shadow. I know these decks have been quite popular on Instagram because they’re just gorgeous! Let's get into it.

BTP90: How to Use Significator Cards in Your Tarot Readings
On today’s episode of the Biddy Tarot Podcast, we’re talking about significator cards and how you can start using them in your Tarot readings. Now, I have to be honest: I do not use significator cards in my readings unless I’m doing maybe the Celtic Cross, where it’s actually part of the reading, because I find that the Tarot reading in and of itself gives me enough information. However, I know that for a lot of people who are learning to read Tarot or doing some more work with Tarot, this whole idea of significators certainly comes up at one stage or another. And I know many of you have questions around what they are, how you can use them, how you choose them, who chooses them, and so on. Today’s episode is really about giving you all of that information, so you can play around, have a go with it, and decide if using significator card is right for you. In this episode, you’ll learn: All about significator cards Why you’d want to use a significator How to choose a significator How to connect the significator in a Tarot reading

BTP89: Visionary Cards with Noa Knafo
On today’s Biddy Tarot podcast, I am speaking with Ben and Noa Knafo, who are behind the Visionary Card deck, and really, this is just a small, small sample of their amazing intuitive artwork that they create. Now, Noa is the artist, and Ben is the maker and the doer, getting it out into the world. Noa’s art focuses on spirituality and on how the world is right now, but in ways that we cannot necessarily see. Her paintings contain certain energies which allow viewers to experience these realities in similar ways, each in their own personal ways. Her Visionary Cards are extremely unique. Each card comes with its own description that links to a knowledge hub, where you are invited to not only read further into each meaning, but also to become part of the meaning by adding your own insights. I’m super excited to talk to Noa today about the process of creating this deck, and her beautiful artwork. Now, let’s get into it!

BTP85: Tarot and Mindfulness with Lisa Freinkel
In this podcast, we chat with Dr. Lisa Freinkel, PhD, a professor, dean and vice provost at the University of Oregon who founded the University’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program. I first came across Lisa’s work at the Northwest Tarot Symposium where she taught a session on using Tarot to build a mindfulness practice. I first came across Lisa’s work at the Northwest Tarot Symposium earlier on in this year, 2017. At the event, she taught a session on this topic. I was super, super fascinated by how we could incorporate more of mindfulness in our Tarot practice. And vice versa—how does Tarot help us become more mindful? In today’s conversation, you’ll hear Lisa talk more about mindfulness and how you can bring the techniques of mindfulness into your Tarot practice. The really neat thing is it’s not complicated. It’s not complex; you don’t have to master all of these different steps or processes. It is, in fact, very simple and really about just bringing your attention back into the now.

BTP84: Coming 'Home' to Ourselves: Reconnecting with Our Inner Wisdom
This podcast episode is different from all the others I’ve done. Instead of having a distinct structure, I wanted to get real with you. I wanted to get into a space where I could share some of the thoughts that are prevalent for me right now. This podcast is about coming ‘home’ to ourselves using the Tarot and reconnecting to our inner wisdom. You see, before religions were invented, we HAD to rely on our own innate wisdom to guide us through life. But now, instead of learning how to trust ourselves, we’ve put so much of our trust into other people—our experts, our authorities, our religious figures, and so on. And we can certainly see this in the Tarot space. We see folks going to Tarot readers and expecting to get all the answers or a silver bullet to solve their problems. What I want is to bring that trust back into ourselves, reclaiming our own inner wisdom, and knowing that we have all the answers within us. And I think Tarot can certainly guide us in that way. So join me in this extra special podcast episode, where I talk about this concept of coming ‘home’ to ourselves and how we can use Tarot and our own inner wisdoms to guide us in life.

BTP83: From the Archives: My Never-Fail 3-Card Tarot Spreads
This week’s podcast episode is a popular one from our archives. It’s the only 3-card Tarot spreads you’ll ever need for your Tarot readings When I first started learning to read Tarot, I felt overwhelmed by complicated Tarot spreads like the 10-card Celtic Cross or the 13-card Horoscope spread. So I went on a mission to find the very best 3-card Tarot spreads to keep it simple, but also get deep insight into my life with Tarot as a guide. In this episode, I’m going to share my very best, never-fail 3 card Tarot spreads. Plus, as a special treat, I’m going to do a couple of sample readings with these spreads so you can get a sense of how they work. Here’s what I’ll cover: How keeping it simple with just 3 cards can give even more insight than more complicated Tarot spreads How to handle a general reading with ease and grace How to uncover the dynamics of a relationship with just 3 cards What Tarot spread to use when faced with a difficult decision

BTP82: Modern Tarot with Michelle Tea
Today, we’re speaking with Michelle Tea, author of the book Modern Tarot, Connecting with Your Higher Self through the Wisdom of the Cards. (Published by Harper-Collins). With her unique insight, inviting pop sensibility, and wicked humor, Modern Tarot is a fascinating journey through the cards that teaches how to use this tradition to connect with our higher selves. Michelle and I share the same desire to bring a modern approach to Tarot. Whether you’re a committed seeker or a digital-age skeptic—or perhaps a little of both—Tea’s essential guide opens the power of tarot to you. Modern Tarot doesn’t require you to believe in the supernatural or narrowly focus on the tarot as a divination tool. Tea instead provides incisive descriptions of each of the 78 cards in the tarot system—each illustrated in the charmingly offbeat style of cartoonist Amanda Verwey—and introduces specially designed card-based rituals that can be used with any deck to guide you on a path toward radical growth and self-improvement. In this podcast episode you’ll learn: Michelle’s philosophy on modern Tarot and how it can become more mainstream Her vision for Tarot in the future Her process for writing her book Modern Tarot
