Flow vs. Force with Valerie Oula

We’re excited to introduce Valerie Oula, a reiki master, director of Vibrational Healing at THE WELL, yoga and meditation teacher, guide, author, and founder of Modern Ritual NYC. With her bio you’d think she was always spiritual and in touch with herself, however, Valerie had quite the partying phase working as a casting director and photo producer in NYC. And while her present looks far different than her past, she stresses the important of honoring where you’ve been (even the shitty parts) in order to release and move forward. We ask Val if she misses old versions of herself, even if they didn’t serve her and how to lead with compassionate flow vs. force. Hear why Valerie feels its our duty to do the inner work, for ourselves and the collective and why discernment, and knowing yourself is so key to your internal fulfillment. To leave a tidbit of Valerie’s wise words, “Remember that there is so much possibility in every moment”.Production by Peoples Media Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Embracing Cringe with Kareem Rahma

Kareem Rahma is a media executive, turned comedian and creator of popular TikTok series ‘Keep the Meter Running’, a inspired by his late father. We get into the importance of prioritizing fun, “embracing cringe,”and fostering community. Unsurprisingly, Kareem is funny as heck and through wit, laughter, profound cliches and radical honesty Kareem shares how he ended up with a career that allows him not to “work.” We chat about his early mid-life / late quarter- life crises when he had the inevitable moment of asking himself, what even is the point? And how that was a catalyst of making a dramatic change. We discuss ‘blue check culture’ (instagram reference), the strength in ‘not knowing’ and learning by doing, reverse mentorship from his Gen Z friends, main character syndrome, and so much more. If it isn’t obvious from our laughing fits, we had so much fun recording this podcast and hope you do too.Production by Peoples Media Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Releasing generational trauma with Kimya Zahedi

Kimya Zahedi is the master of taking what happens and using it as a transformational tool for growth. She was strong willed and opinionated from a young age and realized early on, she was not for everyone. Her immigrant parents fostered her authentic self and allowed her to embrace (and love) her true self despite what others thought. Kimya was quick to follow her curiosity early and often. She was daring enough to move at 22 to Iran to release and uncover what she felt was weighing her down in the states—generational trauma of her ancestors back in Iran. Being herself felt amazing and was great for those who resonated with her, but also led to making others feel intimidated and sometimes threatened. Kimya shares openly and vulnerably about her experience with sexual assault just after grad school, how she processed the trauma, how her relationship with trust changed, and inspired her to go back to school to become a lawyer. Kimya is incredibly inspiring, vulnerable and well spoken and we were grateful to have her share experiences with us.Production by Peoples Media Hosted on Acast. A case for dismantling “fuck men” culture with Kira Jackson

In a very special Valentine’s Day episode we get into the value of overcoming imposter syndrome, using our personal sorcery to get ahead, the blessing and curse of being labeled as “pretty” and the fallacy of “fuck men culture” for both romantic, platonic, and professional relationships. We get into the responsibility we have as individuals to resist bringing our own stories into a room, relationship, or into the world as a whole because we risk perpetuating the dynamic we fear the most. And lastly, it wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day episode if we didn’t deep dive into romantic relationships - how to ensure you feel seen, heard and valued, all while valuing and accepting your partner for who they are without projecting your own insecurities on them. The fluidity of identities with Matt Weinberg

Great episode today with Matt Weinberg - he started as a child Hollywood star (and we mean STAR - appeared on Friends, Hot Chick, X-Men to name a few), seeing it more as an extracurricular vs. a job. He then went on to becoming an executive in the coveted entertainment world, yet ultimately decided to follow his curiosity and passion for cooking and is now the head chef at one of LA's most credible restaurants - Angelini Osteria Palisades. In this episode we discuss how Matt flowed through multiple identities by leaning into his insatiable curiosity, embracing playfulness and not taking life too seriously. We speak about how to forge your own path, despite society's expectations and how to always reinvent yourself. Matt speaks openly about the power of great mentorship along the way and quoted his late boss - "It's a CHOICE to be happy' - what will you choose?Production by Peoples Media Hosted on Acast. Navigating authenticity on and offline with Vanessa Fitzgerald

This episode features the one and only Vanessa Fitzgerald aka @veeshoney - NRT (nutrition response testing) practitioner and overall healer, content creator, entrepreneur and wellness enthusiast. While social media can be detrimental to some, Instagram actually helped Vanessa find her voice and ultimately launch her platform - it was the first place she felt truly seen as her authentic self through sharing her vulnerable journey detoxing from adderall. We discuss how being open on Instagram feels natural most days, yet being vulnerable in her relationships is something she struggles with (even with the importance she places on it for a successful relationship). The theme of fulfillment weaves through this entire episode - the dangers of relying on external factors to achieve it and the ultimate realization that the only way to know if you’re truly fulfilled is time in stillness and looking inwards. So much wisdom in this episode - a must listen for anyone working on finding themselves in todays ‘noisy’ world. Follow the show on:InstagramTikTokProduction by Peoples Media Hosted on Acast. Following your fun with Brian Toll

We speak to Brian Toll, one half of H.wood Group about following your own compass, relentlessly. This was our first recording so while it gets a little long winded and chatty, there are incredible nuggets of wisdom in this conversation! We discuss the importance of doing what you do best, leaning into your strengths and the success it can blossom into. We learn the power of self-awareness and listening to your intuition, as well as empowering the voices believe in you. We explore the idea of doing things you are “supposed to do” and knowing that it’s okay to do the opposite; following your fun; bouncing back from “failures”; and continuing on the path despite the roadblocks and ups and downs.
