A New Year—Prepare to Stand Firm

Send us a textFor anyone who thought a change of calendar year would somehow alter the stressful trajectory in America, this past week would have been a rude reality check.First, the two senatorial runoff elections in Georgia were won by two leftist Democrat candidates, giving Democrats control of the US Senate, House, and Presidency. Count on at least the next two years being an all-out imposition of ungodly policies and persecution...

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is the world’s largest charity and focuses on cures for illnesses, especially in third-world nations.Lo and behold, back in 2015, Bill Gates gave a TED Talk where he almost prophetically described the greatest threat to the world as not a nuclear weapon but a viral pandemic. Christmas Special—How to Not Miss the Reason for the Season

Send us a textThe most significant event in history was the coming of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, into our world. From being born of a virgin woman, to living a sinless life, to performing miraculous acts, to offering His life on a cross to pay the penalty for mankind’s sin, to rising from the dead, to ascending into heaven—all in front of a watching world—is beyond extraordinary. The only reasonable conclusion is that Jesus is who He claimed to be—God.Christmas should be the remembering and celebrating of Christ’s birth. Yes, Christmas has pagan and Roman Catholic roots, and yes, the early church didn’t commemorate it, but setting aside a day to honor Christ’s coming into the world is a good thing...

How One Story Is Far Bigger Than Three That Dominated 2020

Send us a textThree news stories dominated the headlines in 2020: The spread and response to COVID-19 Social unrest and violence over “systemic racism” The Presidential election with ongoing allegations of voting fraudWhile a virus, racism, and an election may not seem related to one another, the first two were cleverly used to effect the outcome of the third…and thus shape the future of our country...

TOPIC: Big Tech Internet—The Dystopian “Ministry of Information”. Part 2 of 2

Send us a textLast week in part 1, we discussed the reality of our Internet age that “the one who controls the information is the one who is in control.”And so be informed: Big Tech Internet companies like Facebook, Google, YouTube, Twitter, and others gather every last bit of information on those who use their platforms so they can market products to you and influence your worldview.God has given us a desire to know things and never before in history can so much information be known so quickly. This desire can turn addictive, evidenced by people being locked onto their cell phones or Internet many hours each day...

Big Tech Internet—The Dystopian “Ministry of Information”

Send us a textThe one who controls the information is the one who is in control. That has become axiomatic in our new age of Big Tech Internet. Companies like Facebook, Google, YouTube, and Twitter are not only some of the largest companies in history but also the most influential. They influence what people think about and what they should think about it!What’s more, these companies know how to keep you connected to their platforms through notifying you of content they know will engage you. They know you through your behavior online and the more time you spend with them, the more opportunity they have to make money and to influence you. If you don’t “comply” with their “standards”, they will just turn off your voice online...

Do You Have a Pilgrim’s Mindset?

Send us a textIn a bygone era in America, it was widely affirmed that the Pilgrims’ founding of Plymouth Colony in New England and the self-governing principles of the Mayflower Compact that they agreed to prior to arriving in 1620, were the foundation of our government “of, by, and for the people” that has made this country unique and great. But then New York Times decided in their “1619 Project” that America was actually founded the year before the Pilgrims arrived when the first black slave was brought to America. In other words, the American story is really about racism rather than religious liberty. The definition of pilgrim is one who “journeys to a sacred place for religious reasons.” Peter uses the term for fellow believers saying in his letter, “Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims…”

Why Do the Wicked Prosper?

Send us a textSidney Powell, one of the leading members of President Trump’s legal team alleging election fraud, said this week:“American patriots are fed up with the corruption from the local level to the highest level of our government…We are not going to be intimidated. We are not going to back down. We are going to clean this mess up now. President Trump won by a landslide. We are going to prove it. And we are going to reclaim the United States of America for the people who vote for freedom.”If it can be proved that the recent presidential election was fraudulently tipped to Joe Biden, it would be the most significant crime in U.S. history...

What is the Basis for Unity in the Nation and the Church?

Send us a text“Unity” is a concept that most everyone desires. After all, isn’t life better when people and nations and churches unite around shared values?Division—the opposite of unity—is widespread in our nation. The recent presidential election bears this out. The electorate is nearly equally divided amongst Trump voters and Biden voters. The political parties push policies that are diametrically opposed to each other. And now allegations of voting fraud have caused even more division. And yet presumptive president-elect Joe Biden called for unity in his acceptance speech: “With the campaign over, it’s time to put the anger and the harsh rhetoric behind us and come together as a nation…It’s time for America to unite. And to heal.”How is it possible to have unity between two sides who have completely different visions for America? And what about unity amongst Christians in the church? Paul commanded the Ephesians to be “diligent to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).This weekend on The Christian Worldview, Travis Allen join us to discuss the basis for unity in the nation and the church. Travis is the senior pastor of Grace Church in Greeley, CO and formerly served our country as a Navy Seal.

Election Postlude: Transition from Constitutional Republic to Banana Republic?

Send us a textLast week in our election preview program, we framed the choice Americans would make in the ballot box as between one party who rejects God (Democrats) and one party who mostly respects God (Republicans).Because our nation has been so equally divided going back to 2000 when George W. Bush narrowly defeated Al Gore after a Supreme Court decision, it probably isn’t surprising that vote totals are so close in several states from last Tuesday’s presidential contest between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden that no victor has yet been announced.Only this time, something more insidious is being alleged by Republicans: widespread fraudulent votes for Democrats through a mail-in ballot system implemented for the first time in this election cycle so voters could cast their ballot remotely due to COVID-19...
