The Cause and Effect of Critical Race Theory Part 2 of 2
Send us a textCritical Race Theory (or Critical Theory more broadly beyond race) is now the de facto worldview of the political left, academia, mainstream media, corporations, and even the military. This worldview sees everything through the Marxist prism of oppression, with white, male Christians being the source of injustice and inequality in society.CRT rears its ugly, divisive, racist head every day, in school board meetings, corporate board rooms, and from the White House. And now a slightly less obvious version of CRT is being ushered into Evangelical churches and organizations. The conversion of Zaccheus in Luke 19 , where the tax collector tells Jesus, “Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I will give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will give back four times as much” (Luke 19:8) is the proof-text for why blacks should receive reparations for slavery. This weekend on The Christian Worldview, we’ll discuss part 2 of The Cause and Effect of Critical Race Theory. The Cause and Effect of Critical Race Theory Part 1 of 2
Send us a textEvery cause produces an effect. Drop a pebble in a pond (cause) and small ripples form and travel outward (effect).Likewise, ideas are causes that produce effects. Good ideas produce good effects and bad ideas bad effects. Big, unbiblical ideas are not like dropping a pebble into a pond but rather a nuclear bomb on a society—widespread destruction and even death are the effects.Critical Race Theory, the idea that White Supremacy is the dominating operating principle in America oppressing all manner of oppressed groups (“people of color”, women, etc.), is the new Big Idea in America that is being imbibed and perpetuated by government, corporations, and the Left. The Evangelical Church is dallying with it as well. The idea that America and the church are systemically racist leads to an effect—restitution and reparations must be made. “Equity” (equal outcomes, not equal opportunity) must be enforced. This is the thesis of a new book entitled, Reparations: A Christian Call for Repentance and Renewal (Brazos Press) by Duke Kwon, a PCA pastor in Washington, DC, and Greg Thompson, a former PCA pastor.Kevin DeYoung, senior pastor at Christ Covenant Church in North Carolina, just wrote a lengthy review of the book and its call for reparations from Whites to Blacks. We’ll discuss Critical Race Theory (the ideological cause) and reparations (the demanded effect) this weekend on The Christian Worldview. It’s important for Christians to understand this worldview that is taking hold on our country and the church.

How to Think and Live in an Anti-Truth Culture
Send us a textGUEST: ROBERT KNIGHT, author and columnist, Washington TimesSatan and unredeemed humanity have always been at war with the truth. This is because God is the source of truth, and thus to try to escape accountability to God and persuade others to do the same means one must believe and propagate lies. This includes lies about God’s character and nature, His laws and justice, His offer of salvation through Christ, and really any given issue that will lead someone in the wrong direction. Lies about sexuality (“homosexuality is good”), gender (“you can choose your gender”), race (“your identity is your skin color”), climate (“man will destroy the world”), COVID (“masks and the vaccine will save us”), etc., etc.We are living in a lie-dominant, anti-truth culture. Christians don’t know where to get news on current events because mainstream and social media constantly pump out lies in pursuit of their agenda to lead people away from God and to their socialist government utopian dream.Robert Knight, columnist for the Washington Times, joins us this weekend on The Christian Worldview to discuss this anti-truth worldview in light his most recent column, “The Dangers of Doublethink”, where the most influential institutions in our society constantly lie about everything. How should a Christian think and live in this anti-truth culture? Join us this weekend to find out!
