Kitty Sipple is a disabled white queer non-binary femme.  They are deeply engaged in research that focuses on finding viable solutions for the issues that society places on marginalized communities, particularly the trans & non-binary community.  In this talk, we discuss their presentation at the "Breaking" Convention in London.   We also discuss the liminal spaces describing the mystical dream-world of perception and reality, which can be alarming for some to navigate.  Kitty describes the similar aspects of navigating liminal spaces in regards to gender and psychedelics.  Kitty explores the connection of their own experience as a non-binary queer femme and their examination of psychedelic "in-between" spaces.  They will also explore the concept that navigation of liminal spaces is a learned skill, which could be used to explore other hidden liminal spaces in the human experience.  Kitty will also discuss their own journey with dissociative identity disorder (DID), and their inquiry into psychedelic accessibility.    For further information about Kitty, please see their website:  https://www.fungifemme.com/ Links to their presentation at the 2019 Breaking Convention can be found here:  Kitty's Breaking Convention Presentation

Jonathan and his colleagues have started a global grassroots movement to raise awareness about the healing power of plant medicine and psychedelic-assisted therapy.  They are currently preparing a viral gratitude campaign to draw the attention of the mainstream news media. Specifically, on February 20, 2020, over 100,000+ people world wide will "come out" on social medial with their stories of personal healing and transformation, using the hashtag #ThankYouPlantMedicine. This movement is a coordinated effort of over 300 volunteers from 33 countries currently reaching out to hundreds of organizations, media channels, and high profile celebrities. ThankYouPlantMedicine has the formal support of organizations such as ICEERS, Chacruna.net and 1Heart Journeys and is gathering the latest academic research, safety, and legal information which will be made available on a non-profit website, that will also feature indigenous causes, conservation efforts and ways to take action. Carlos is an American living in Peru, where he has been studying the science of plant spirit healing in the Amazon Rainforest since 2003.  He currently works as the director of the Ayahuasca Foundation, a non-profit organization based out of Iquitos, Peru.  He organizes healing retreats and educational courses with authentic indigenous healers, called curanderos, to help people who are in need of healing--anything from depression to cancer--or who are interested in learning the healing traditions of the Amazon Rainforest.  He has participated in over 700 ayahuasca ceremonies and has spoken at conferences, workshops, and seminars about his experiences with the sacred medicine ayahuasca and his path to becoming a "Gringo" shaman in the Peruvian Amazon. Bill Crook and Wendy Allen radiate the splendor of life much like the mandalas that Wendy creates.  Bill has taught art at Benedictine University, Lincoln College, and Lincoln Land Community College.  He founded Prairie Press in 1990.  His printing method uses relief photoengraving plates which are made from his pen and ink originals.  Over the years, Bill's art work has spanned such diverse subjects as street scenes, cliffs in the Shawnee National Forest, and the Rod Blagojevich  impeachment hearings.  He recently published a new book of art and his work can be found at www.williamcrookjr.com. Wendy received her Masters in Counseling from the University of Iowa and was an art therapist for many years.  Her artistic development mirrors her own spiritual development.  She has written that "as my mind has slowed and quieted through the years of my spiritual practice, I have experienced a downloading of creative inspiration.  I attempt to express through my art the sacred Presence that I experience on the inner.  The creative process for me is a dialogue between me, the art, and Source.  I want my pieces to communicate the fragrance of this "Presence."  Then it may be possible for the viewer to follow this fragrance back to his or her higher Sacred Self."
