Reggie Hubbard is a senior political strategist who is also a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher. He was the former Senior Political Strategist and Congressional Liaison for MoveOn.org, served as the National Advance Lead for the 2016 Bernie Sanders Campaign, and was an Advance Consultant for then Vice President Biden and First Lady Michelle Obama. Reggie is the founder of Active Peace Yoga, a practice rooted in inclusion, healing, and accessibility--regardless of race, gender, body type, or experience level. Through this platform, he offers yoga and meditation grounded in compassion, drawing creative inspiration from artists like Prince and Jimi Hendrix. His teaching weaves together sound, movement, breathwork, and honest dialogue. Ananda is the author of Here For The Joy (2022) and Good News About the World Falling Apart (2025) the latter work being the subject of this podcast. Ananda went to Andover, Oberlin and Yale Law School and later taught English at St. Ann's School in Brooklyn. In 1994, he left the city for upstate New York where he worked as a carpenter and mechanic and started seriously following his bliss. He retired from carpentry when he hit 56, but never stopped teaching: twelve years guiding students of shamanism at Spirit Hollow, the nature and spirituality center he co-founded, and the last twenty years and counting as an adjunct instructor of anthropology, history and mythology at the Community College of Vermont.
