Stop Worrying. Stop Living Distracted. Start Paying Attention to What Matters with Paul Angone

What are you paying attention to? I have a habit of paying attention to things that don’t always serve me well. Using my phone as a distraction from real life or tuning into a guilty pleasure like 90 Day Finance and Love is Blind, don’t judge, are escape mechanisms for me. Sometimes I wonder though, what am I trying to escape from? Responsibility? Work? Relationships? Money? Paul Angone, author of five best-selling books including “101 Secrets For Your Twenties,” and his new book, “Listen to Your Day,” believes that what you are paying attention to is a currency. In this episode, you'll learn how to stop worrying about what doesn't matter, how to shift your focus, and how to start paying attention to the things that matter to you. Your money will thank you.LINKSListen to Your Day book - https://allgroanup.com/books-2/Paul's website - https://allgroanup.com/LEAVE US A REVIEWLeave us an honest rating and review, pretty please. Ask Shannah: Why Do I Always Underestimate and Overspend

In this Ask Shannah, I tackle a question from Jasmine that you might be able to relate to. "Dear Shannah, I can’t tell you know much I love this show. It has helped me immensely. In fact, when I had drinks with my friends recently I was telling them how my money situation hasn’t gotten a lot better, meaning I’m not making a lot more money, but girl, I feel a lot better about it. I used to wake up with stress sweats over money almost every night. I live in NYC and it’s expensive, like really expensive. So my question is this - I really try really hard to budget and do everything you say to do. And they help, really they do, but lately, I’ve been struggling. I feel like I’m always underestimating my expenses and then I get to the end of the month and the money that’s supposed to be there isn’t. What am I doing wrong? Any clues to help me get back on track? These last couple of years I’ve felt like I’m moving backward with my money even though I actually feel better about money. Anyway…I’d love your thoughts on this. Everything You Need to Know About Economics with Howard Yaruss

Remember that economics course you took? Yeah, me neither. Turns out that knowing what’s happening in the economy is more important than you know. Politicians are making decisions with the economy that have a direct impact on your money. So as our guest Howard Yaruss, economist, professor at NYU, and author of the new book, Understandable Economics: Because Understanding Our Economy is Easier Than You Think and More Important Than You Know, says, it’s time to start paying attention to our economy and the people making the decisions. And the reason behind your $100 grocery shopping bill that was $50 last year…well, that’s because of the economy.
