130: Reclaim Your Time: Jay & Cole Zick Discuss The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry

Hey BraveCo Men! Join us in today’s episode as Jay sits down with Cole Zick to dive into the profound insights Cole has gained while reading The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. They explore the importance of reclaiming your idle time—those precious moments that are often stolen by distractions we barely notice. This conversation is a must-listen for anyone feeling the strain of a hurried life, looking for ways to reclaim their time and mental energy!Cole shares how, for many of us, these stolen moments are most often taken by our phones. He emphasizes that our best brain space is found in those idle times when we allow our minds to wander freely. It's in these moments that we solve problems, spark creativity, and generate fresh ideas. However, when we reach for our phones during those in-between moments, our brains operate at a lower level, robbing us of that valuable cognitive space. They also discuss the misconception that constant activity equals productivity. Cole sheds light on the pressure many feel to always be doing something, yet he challenges this notion, suggesting that there is a more focused and intentional way to live. Just because we have access to more information and education than ever before doesn’t necessarily mean we are becoming more intelligent, healthy, or productive.Tune in for practical advice on how to slow down, be more intentional with your time, and ultimately live a more focused and fulfilling life!Connect with Cole Zick:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/colezick/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/cczickABOUT BRAVECOWe live in a time where men are hunting for the truth and looking for the codebook to manhood. 121: Bill Johnson: The Makings of a Man // Faith that led to 27 years in prison, Nelson Mandela

Hey, BraveCo Men! Listen in for this week’s episode of our “Makings of a Man” series, as Jason interviews pastor, father, and revivalist, Bill Johnson, in this convicting conversation on the core value of faith. We begin this episode by sharing the inspirational story of the life of Nelson Mandela, whose victory was not just political but also a profound testament to the power of faith and resilience in overcoming oppression and injustice. Arrested for his activism, Mandela spent 27 years in prison, enduring harsh conditions and separation from his family. Mandela's unwavering belief in a better future fueled his resolve, even in the darkest moments. Upon his release, he led a peaceful transition from apartheid to democracy, ultimately becoming South Africa's first black president. For many of us men, we find ourselves grappling with two types of faith: faith in God, who we are serving, and faith in what we are doing. Having a conviction of what we have been assigned to can sometimes be much easier than living a life in purity of heart—but the ease doesn’t make it right. There are a lot of men who have faith in the mission and assignment of their lives, but find themselves standing shakily in trusting the One who has led them to their mission or work. We can be committed to our jobs, our assignments, and roles, and not always have purity of heart. When we offer ourselves to the Lord for His glory, we maintain what is precious and invaluable: the constant awareness of God’s presence and Person. We hope this episode encourages our men to grow in faith, purity of heart, and the celebration of what God is doing.Bill Johnson is a fifth-generation pastor with a rich heritage in the Holy Spirit. He has been pastor of Bethel Church since 1996 with a one-word mission statement: revival. Bill’s priority in life has been to learn how to host the Presence of God and minister to Him, and in fruit, he has remained passionate about seeing the Kingdom of Heaven invade Earth across all spheres of influence. Connect with Bill:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/billjohnsonministries/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BillJohnsonMinistries YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@BillJohnsonMinistries Website: https://bjm.org/about/ Resources: https://bjm.org/resources-list/ ABOUT BRAVECOWe live in a time where men are hunting for the truth and looking for the codebook to manhood.
