280 - Alan Briggs ”A dozen axioms that will change your life; Living and leading whelmed”

If you find yourself overwhelmed it turns out you’re normal, but you can’t stay there. Our culture seems to be stumbling drunk from a strange concoction of insecurity, overwork and boredom. If we don’t learn how to resist this we’ll fall in either the ditch of overwhelm or underwhelm. Without knowing it I think we’re all asking a core but silent question deep in our hearts, “How do I get whelmed?”  Level your leadership in 2022 Right Side Up Collective Right Side Up Community Purchase a Right Side Up Journal Schedule your FREE breakthrough coaching session Invest in your leadership by joining free Right Side Up Community

276 - Alan Briggs ” A dozen axioms that will change your life; Who you are matters more than what you do”

Scripture is clear that who we are matters more than what we do (but, of course, what we do should begin to align with who we are). Ephesians says we are God’s workmanship (think poem, song, painting) before we have work to do. Jesus describes a healthy tree that bears healthy fruit because it has healthy roots. Our identity as daughters and sons is more important than our impact as leaders.  Level your leadership in 2022 Right Side Up Collective Right Side Up Community Purchase a Right Side Up Journal Schedule your FREE breakthrough coaching session Invest in your leadership by joining free Right Side Up Community

274 - Alan Briggs ” A dozen axioms that will change your life; Progress over perfect”

Here’s a morbid question; how many ideas are buried in your local graveyard? Some of the best ideas, potentially life-changing ideas, die with people. Why? Fear kept them buried inside. Fear convinces us we should never start. It whispers to us, “Who are you to do THIS? What right do you have? Would anyone even care about this?” It paralyzes us into indecision and procrastination. If you’re waiting for the perfect time or the perfect draft you’ll never start your big idea. 272 - ”A dozen axioms that will change your life; Shed the good to get to the best”

Leaders must create filters for what they let in and what they let out. This includes content we ingest, travel opportunities, tasks we accept and regular meetings. The best way to get your life back is to revisit your priorities and make decisions based on them. You will disappoint people eventually, I recommend doing it proactively. Good opportunities are everywhere, and are blocking you from amazing opportunities down the road.  Level your leadership in 2022 Right Side Up Community Purchase a Right Side Up Journal Schedule your FREE breakthrough coaching session Invest in your leadership by joining free Right Side Up Community
