Episode 115: Assessing & Developing Your College Program the Right Way
So many things can derail an otherwise smart, successful, competent coach on his or her way to building a great program.
That's what today's show features: A conversation with a college coach who wants to be proactive in recognizing where he can do better when it comes to controlling the direction of his program, and then taking action. This isn't a story about putting out fires and rebuilding, but one of making sure things keep going the right direction all the way through the process.
We talk about the right recruits to go after at a coach's particular college, timelines and deadlines, and how to develop a strategy for building a program the way this coach wants to build it.
You're going to learn a lot by listening-in to what we discuss with this coach!

Episode 114: Program Building Lessons From a Former Cold War Nuclear Submariner
It's the big Season 6 premier of the College Recruiting Weekly podcast, and we're not wasting any time bringing you one of the most interesting guests we've ever talked to:
Jon S. Rennie, author, speaker, entrepreneur, and former nuclear submarine officer during the Cold Way.
We talk about Rennie's new book, "All In the Same Boat: Lead Your Organization Like a Nuclear Submariner" as well as the lessons he learned that you can apply to building your program on your campus.
This is a great episode for head coaches, but also for assistant coaches who want to contribute to the goal of greatness - and why 'being in the same boat' is so key to that development.

Coach Gabe Bolton on Building a Successful Program Your Own Way
Frank Sinatra sang it loudly: "I did it my way!"
And just like Frank, there are college coaches out there who get creative, buck the trends, and build their programs using their instincts and experience as a guide.
Coach Gabe Bolton is one of those coaches. He is the longtime women's soccer head coach at California State University, Stanislaus, a successful Division II program in central California. Over the years, he's used some unorthodox methods to build a winner, and create a life for himself and his family that might just be the envy of a lot of coaches who listen to this episode.
He'll share what he's done, how he's done it, and offer ideas that you can use to build your own program.
You can email Coach Bolton at gbolton@csustan.edu with questions. And, you can contact Dan Tudor at dan@dantudor.com.

Episode 108: Are College Athletic Departments Ready for NIL?
In this episode, we talk with journalist Andy Wittry, creator of the popular Out of Bounds online column focusing on issues surrounding college athletics, about the upcoming Name/Image/Likeness (NIL) initiative that will allow student-athletes to profit commercially during their time as a college athlete.
The question we ask Wittry, who has done extensive research on the topic and how different athletic departments are preparing to handle it, to try and answer the question, "are college athletic departments ready for NIL?"
We focus on an investigative article by Wittry which explored that question. His findings, and our podcast discussion, can help athletic departments and coaches learn from some early mistakes colleges have made to ensure they move forward as strongly and confidently as possible.
