The Squeeze
Taylor Lautner
When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze—we talk about it—"it" being our mental health and well being. Host Taylor Lautner's (no, not that guy, but she is married to that guy) introduction to mental health was at a young age, witnessing friends and family suffer in ways she couldn't fully understand. She started a nursing career in the peak of the pandemic and has been struggling with her own mental health ever since. Tay is joined co-host, husband Taylor Lautner, in addition to celebrity and expert guests to further the conversation surrounding mental wellness. At the end of the day, we're all pretty similar; even those living in the lime-est of lights can be weighed down by sour lemons. In addition to sharing coping strategies and stories, we hope that above all, this podcast offers the comfort of knowing you are not alone.

Tay & Tay Lautner: Find Your Happy Place
We heard you loud and clear Lemon Drops, so we’re bringing you more solo episodes! This week your hosts sit back, relax, and enjoy some tea time with Tay(s). They cover everything (and we mean everything) from friendship bracelets to ferocious turtles. Before they dive into all your questions, they also take a moment to talk about the importance of self-care and the scope of what that really means. It’s not always a spa day—it means truly caring for yourself, even if sometimes, that means having an uncomfortable conversation. Tay opens up about a new self-care strategy from her EMDR therapist, and a moment of insecurity she had at the Eras Tour and how she talked herself through it. Then they answer your burning questions, including which songs from 1989 (Taylor’s Version) they’re most excited for, which The Summer I Turned Pretty boy they’re rooting for, and a funny memory of the two of them that takes them back all the way to their 6-month anniversary. We hope you enjoy this peek at a day with the Lautners!

Solomon Thomas: Hercules is Human Too
TW: suicide
Drafted third overall in 2017, Solomon Thomas knows what it’s like to have a target on his back. His true battles, however, have never been on the field but in trying to dismantle archaic stigmas around mental health while working through the grief of his sister’s suicide. He talks about growing up with his older sister Ella, how close he was to his family, and when they first noticed Ella was struggling. He stresses the importance of checking in on your strong friends and discusses his journey with his own mental health. He explains how therapy has allowed him to put into words feelings that he didn’t even have the language for as he navigates his journey with grief. The three discuss what mental health looks like in the world of the NFL and the positive changes Solomon has seen since his rookie year. He explains why whole health is important to him as an athlete, and discusses his non-profit, The Defensive Line, on a mission to end the epidemic of youth suicide, especially for people of color.
Be sure to keep up with Solomon @sollythomas90 and check out The Defensive Line

Sasha Pieterse: PCOS & Motherhood
*This episode was recorded prior to the SAG-AFTRA strike and our team was given approval by SAG to release it.
Actress Sasha Pieterse joins the Lautners to discuss her journey with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), the entertainment industry, and motherhood. Her and Taylor reminisce on their time filming Shark Boy and Lava Girl together and the multi-generational fan base that continues to this day. Sasha then explains what exactly PCOS is, her battle to be diagnosed, and the miracle that was getting pregnant—not only because PCOS is a huge component of infertility, but because her son then miraculously regulated her hormones. In addition to that, she has also become the most confident she’s ever been from being a mom, with other people’s opinions being so low on her priority list. She discusses why she and her husband suspect they’re “one and done” when it comes to children, and the importance of making her marriage her first priority. Lastly, she discusses where the idea for Women In The Nude, her new podcast, came from. Check it out below!

TW: suicide, suicidal ideation

JP Saxe: I Need a Therapist
TW: addiction, grief and loss
Your hosts are both massive fans of this week’s guest, musician and singer JP Saxe. The episode is full of energy and insight, as JP starts off by inquiring if the Lautners find navigating enmeshment more challenging by their shared name. The three then dive into love and conflict languages and the importance of being malleable to your partners’ styles. JP talks about his childhood, including the blessings he’s discovered from not being popular at a young age and his journey of defining masculinity in his own terms. Taylor also opens up about the struggles he faced when playing Jacob and the pressure he felt to portray a perfect life. The three then discuss feelings of being a burden to your partner, bullying, and being an only child—something girl Tay and JP have in common! JP opens up about growing up in a house suffering from addiction, and explains his journey with loss and grief to Taylor, who has not yet experienced any sort of family loss. He also shares the series of decisions that made him realize it was time to start therapy and the role songwriting has played in his healing journey.

Dr. Sasha: ADHD and Knowing Your Patterns
Dr. Sasha is a psychiatrist specializing in ADHD who has ADHD herself. Today she joins your hosts to discuss her journey with the diagnosis, med school, and becoming a parent. Dr. Sasha breaks down the three hallmark features of ADHD and the various ways they can present themselves. She explains how she stopped taking her medication when she went off to school and felt like she had a stroke as she fell to the bottom of her class—by a lot. Her and her father then dove into ADHD research so she could fully understand what was going on. She explains the shocking gap in the average age of diagnosis between genders, and how people (especially women) can be diagnosed with anxiety or depression in place of ADHD because of their symptoms. She offers advice to parents potentially facing a diagnosis and emphasizes the importance of recognizing your own patterns. She also touches on ADHD and dating/relationships, and discusses her book and ADHD management app to help people with ADHD.
Follow Dr. Sasha on Instagram and TikTok @thepsychdoctormd and check out her book, Self-Care for People with ADHD 100+ Ways to Recharge, De-Stress, and Prioritize You! Plus, watch out for her app, FocusGenie, coming soon.

Tay & Tay Lautner: Let’s Go Back to the Beginning
Let’s go back to the beginning (of the podcast and the love story!) with another solo episode where the Lautners offer a look into the beginning of their relationship. Before they get started, Taylor addresses a video he posted on social media about some rude comments he came across and wants to set the record straight on his intention in posting it. They then get into audience questions! The most popular question by far has to do with the reality of a “famous person” dating a “normal person” so your hosts take a deep dive into keeping their relationship private, when they felt ready to go public, Tay’s first introductions to the industry and the first-class lifestyle, and the hardest moment that has resulted from being in a public relationship. They also tackle a few rapid-fire questions, such as if their astrological signs are accurate, who kissed who first, and what Tay’s parents thought of her dating a celebrity! Lastly, Taylor walks us through his proposal-planning process. Let us know what you think of the episode, and if we should do more solo shows in the future!
