The Squeeze
When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze—we talk about it—"it" being our mental health and well being. Host Taylor Lautner's (no, not that guy, but she is married to that guy) introduction to mental health was at a young age, witnessing friends and family suffer in ways she couldn't fully understand. She started a nursing career in the peak of the pandemic and has been struggling with her own mental health ever since. Tay is joined co-host, husband Taylor Lautner, in addition to celebrity and expert guests to further the conversation surrounding mental wellness. At the end of the day, we're all pretty similar; even those living in the lime-est of lights can be weighed down by sour lemons. In addition to sharing coping strategies and stories, we hope that above all, this podcast offers the comfort of knowing you are not alone.

Brandon & Serene: Losing Family and Finding Each Other
Like the rest of America, Tay and Taylor instantly feel in love with Paradise couple Brandon and Serene, and knew they needed to have them on the podcast. This week, they join the Lautners to discuss their mental health before and during filming. Brandon talks about his experience hiring for travel nurse recruiting during COVID, and the toll that took on his mental health. He also opens up about losing a very close friend and his grandfather. While he acknowledges that society encourages men to push down and cover up their feelings, he and the Lautners are here to change that narrative. Serene opens up about the loss of her grandma, aunt, and cousin, and why her 1 on 1 date in Galveston brought up so many emotions. Brandon and Serene also touch on the pressure they feel to stay together and what they do when life hands them lemons … which may be different than you think!

Lindsey Vonn: (Snow) Peaks and Valleys
TW: depression
Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn, one of the most successful female alpine skiers in the history of the sport, joins your hosts today to discuss her mental health journey and her unbelievable longevity in the sport. Lindsey explains that her injuries gave her a renewed perspective each time, and she never felt she worked a day in her life. Of her unparalleled accomplishments, she shares which one meant the most, and talks about her decision to retire, which was ultimately made for her by her body. She speaks to her mental health while she was injured and following her retirement, and the emotional support she finds from her dogs. The three discuss the false notion that success equates to happiness, and your hosts applaud Lindsey for being so open about her depression. Lindsey discusses the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, empowering underserved girls with scholarships and programs, and what’s in store for the future. Lastly, Lindsey tackles the Lemon 11 segment, diving into the dangers of social media, the value of finding the type of therapy that works for you, and, potentially, a dog podcast? We’re in.

Hannah Brown: Opening the Scary Closet
This week your hosts welcome their first guest … Hannah Brown! They kick off the episode with a new segment, Cit-rus (sh*t-just) Got Real, and then dive into Hannah’s experience releasing her book, God Bless This Mess: Learning to Live and Love Through Life’s Best (and Worst) Moments. Hannah explains that the first time she was really asked about her feelings was when she was on The Bachelor, and while that was a great experience for her, being The Bachelorette was much more challenging. Hannah also presents her metaphor of the “scary closet” as she’s working on organizing and processing what has impacted her throughout her life. She talks with the Lautners about intention vs. impact (especially when communicating with your partner), her time on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, and finding her footing in the world of social media. At The Squeeze, we're all about intentional conversation, and Hannah offers just that in today's episode as she opens up about her mental health journey.
Be sure to check out Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test Wednesdays on FOX at 9/8c, and follow Hannah, @hannahbrown!

Taylor Lautner: Fame is a Drug
TW: body dysmorphia
In this episode, Tay Lautner interviews her husband and co-host, actor Taylor Lautner, as the two discuss growing up in the limelight, body image, and men’s mental health. They touch on Taylor’s hiatus from the entertainment industry and explain why fame felt like a drug to him; one that would be healthier to abstain from, but would be rough before it got better. All of his wife Tay's experiences with mental health struggles prior to her own were with men in her life, so it is important to both of your hosts to destigmatize and openly discuss men’s mental health. In particular, the two touch on body image battles, an issue often attributed to only women, and offer words of encouragement for the men out there struggling. Lastly, Taylor tackles the Lemon 11 segment, during which he opens up about his massive misinterpretation of “that” moment at the 2009 VMAs. When life gives you lemons, what do you do with them? Over here at The Squeeze — we talk about it.
