A Brief Episode About My Books
As the title states, in today's episode I am taking a very brief break from debunking historical myths to ramble a bit about something I've rarely mentioned before on this podcast: the books that I've written. We'll be back to history later this week, and you can skip this one if you want to, but I hope you'll give it a listen. Here are the links to the books I mention in the episode: The Last Word: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0692235388/ Writer in Residence: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0692496572/ Book Town: https://www.amazon.com/dp/0692142991/

The Sunday Ramble: History and Myth
It's time again for the Sunday Ramble, and in today's episode we'll be looking at two favorite topics on this podcast - history and myths - but not in the way we normally do.

Revisionist History in the Classroom
As we continue to wrestle with how best to reopen our schools in an ongoing pandemic, it's a good time to take a look at the first place most of us are exposed to both real history and revisionist history: the classroom. How do we get the textbooks and what information kids are taught? The answers may surprise you.

A Quick Update
Today's brief episode is a quick update on some important, and I think very positive, changes coming to the podcast as we move forward. Also, as mentioned in the episode, our Facebook page is www.facebook.com/revisionisthistorypodcast. Check it out.

A Brief Update on a Snowy Day
Today's brief episode is not about history, but rather about a new short story collection I just released. It does, however, tie into history in a roundabout way. You'll se why. We'll be back to debunking myths later this week. Here is the link mentioned in the episode. The new story collection, "Adventures in Bookselling," can be found at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08WJRV7D7/

Ranking the Presidents: My Response to a Ridiculous Video
In today's episode I address a ridiculous YouTube video ranking our greatest presidents. Why talk about this specific video? Because it's the one that caused me to start this podcast to debunk revisionist history in the first place.

Sunday Ramble: Preserve a Piece of Literary History
In today's Sunday Ramble, we're giving an update on an earlier episode urging you to support the people who bring you history every day: your local independent booksellers. If you are a long-time listener, you know how important books are for our knowledge of history, and preserving the businesses that bring us the most diverse points of view, historically and otherwise, is critical during the current COVID-19 crisis. I also tell you how you can help a bookstore that is itself a part of history. We'll get back to debunking historical myths next time.

2020's Top Episode: Donald Trump and the Willful Ignorance of History
Since this podcast started more than a year and a half ago, the episode “Was America Founded as a Christian Nation?” had stubbornly remained the most played. That, like many other things, changed late in 2020 when it was finally bumped from #1 by one about the man who dominated the news this year. 2020's top episode looks at an issue that isn't exactly revisionist history, but one that certainly facilitates it. That issue is willful historical ignorance, specifically on the part of the current President of the United States.

Bonus Episode: Check Out the Everyday Saints Podcast
Today's bonus episode is an admittedly shameless plug for another podcast I do that also has a decidedly historical aspect. It's called Everyday Saints, and can be heard at anchor.fm/everydaysaints. We'll be back to debunking myths in our next episode, but I hope you'll give this one a listen and also check out the Everyday Saints podcast as well.
