137 - Help for Single Moms - The Single Mom Network

Leh recently had the pleasure of being invited onto a show called the Single Mom Life, which is produced by the Single Mom Network.  He learned some interesting statistics about single family households.  In the United States alone, there are 11,667,000 Single Parent Families.  81.4% are headed by single mothers.  Of those, 35.6% were poor, 27.5% were jobless for an entire year, and 31.6% were food insecure.   These are pretty scary statistics for one of the wealthiest countries in the world.  TJ Ware, a single mom herself, saw a need to help these families.  This inspired her to start the Single Mom Network.  Tune in to hear Leh and Todd interview TJ to learn about what she is doing to help single moms (and single parents).  She is working on programs for all single moms to succeed in life, regardless of where they are on the economic ladder.   If you would like a transcript of this show, you can find it on our website.     If you are enjoying the show, please take a moment to post a positive review about it.  Not sure how, you can read about it here.

How do I file for divorce from my abusive husband as cheaply as possible? I have a lot of pre-marital stock.  I am concerned that it might have been co-mingled in a brokerage account.  Is it now marital? And many more. . . 131 - What is Discernment Counseling and How It Can Help If You Are Considering Divorce with Matt Driggers

In this show, Leh and Todd explore a relatively new form of counseling that is a great step to consider taking before filing for divorce.  There are many situations where one spouse has completely checked out of the marriage while the other is committed to saving the marriage.  When the committed spouse convinces the 'checked out' spouse to attend marriage counseling, it is often only because the checked out spouse wants to simply check the 'counseling box.'  Discernment Counseling is something different.  In many cases, it is a better alternative to marriage counseling or immediately filing for divorce.  Matt Driggers visits the studio to explain Discernment Counseling and how it can be a great option if one spouse is considering divorce.   If you would like a transcript of this show, you can find it on our website.     If you are enjoying the show, please take a moment to post a positive review about it.  Not sure how?
