At its 2024 Synod, the Christian Reformed Church drew a hard, firm, clear, and biblical line regarding sexual ethics and the Seventh Commandment. Synod overwhelmingly rolled back liberal attempts to accommodate the culture by requiring ministers and congregations, and church courts who have compromised on the Bible's teaching to publicly repent or face discipline. In a bold and necessary move, the Synod has taken away the "voice" of those who refuse to uphold the CRC's position on human sexuality. The panel notes that the so-called "Korean Style Prayer" is not practiced in many PCA congregations and therefore it may be improper to label it as such. Numerous overtures are before the PCA General Assembly next month that have the potential to reshape the character of our judicial procedures. Some of these proposed changes are in grave conflict with the PCA Constitution. Even though there are no 'hot button' issues before the General Assembly, these subtle and nuanced proposals could have profound impact on the PCA.
