Alien Theorists Theorizing

Beginning in the year 250 A.D. the Mayan culture of Central America reached new heights of civilization. Marked by outstanding advancements in art, science, and architecture this period is referred to as the Mayan classic period. Also during this time, modern scientists have identified a widespread cultural practice of cranial deformation whose origins seemed to be deeply rooted in humanity’s past. From the many examples of art dated to this period, archaeologists have been able to form theories that link this practice within the Mayan civilization to a complex social hierarchy that incorporated two very different techniques for the shaping of their skulls. Some scientists cite the analysis of artistic depictions from the period that some of these techniques were meant to imitate the skulls of sacred animals like the jaguar, which represented power. Other scientists point to paintings of the god of fertility and other members of the Mayan pantheon which were drawn with similar cranial modifications. This practice of shaping skulls is not only found among the cultures of Central America. Between 1972 and 1973, in modern-day Syria, archaeologists began an excavation of what they originally thought was an ancient farming village located in the Euphrates valley in an area known as Tell Abu Hureyra. The scientists were surprised to discover that there was another settlement from the Paleolithic era buried underneath the remains of the later settlement. Archaeologists were able to determine that the earlier village had been a society of hunter-gatherers who had perhaps settled in the valley more than 12,000 years ago. Around that same time period is when scientists have studied and determined there had been a dramatic climate shift that actually seemed to halt the Earth’s exit from its last Ice Age. Even more fascinating, is that a new study of the soil and artifacts found at Abu Hureyra, revealed the settlement had been obliterated by a fragment of a comet. This finding seems to support the relatively new theory that this unusual climatic event may have been the result of a single or even multiple extraterrestrial impacts. In 1952 The United States Air Force began to experience an unprecedented build-up of reports of sightings of unidentified aerial phenomenon. Project Blue Book had been tasked to investigate these sightings which included events like the Washington flap. These sightings had become such a large concern the Director of Central Intelligence, General Walter Bedell Smith, issued a memo voicing his worries these events could be seen as some kind of psychological warfare and perhaps begin a widespread panic. During the 1960s and ’70s, the world’s two largest superpowers vied to be the first to put a human on the surface of our closest planetary neighbor, the moon. Both the United States and the Soviet Union spent an immense amount of manpower and resources in order to study and map the lunar surface in preparation for this massive endeavor. In 1139 The Pope of the Catholic Church, Innocent II, issued a landmark order that would create a fundamental shift in power throughout Europe and the Middle East. The mandate would establish an order of highly trained knights that would answer to no one but the Pope. On the evening of August 21, 1955, a family raced into the Hopkinsville, Kentucky police station to report that their house was under attack by a group of alien creatures.
