Her friend Minnie had contacted the police after Lilly had not answered her door for almost a week since she had last seen her. Police found Lilly dead and her body completely drained of blood. At about noon on August 10, 1991, housekeeping staff of the Sheraton Hotel in Martinsburg, West Virginia discovered American freelance journalist Danny Casolaro naked in the bathtub of room 517. Dalnegorsk, a small town on the far eastern side of what was, in 1986, the former Soviet Union. Witnesses reported seeing a glowing spherical object streaking through the early evening sky and impacting a nearby hillside. Within a few days, local scientists were combing the forested area for evidence of the object that had fallen from the sky.
