Harry Grammer: Racial Injustice & How to Stop “Othering” Each Other
In this episode of the Align Podcast, I am joined by Harry Grammer, who is by far one of the most important figures I have had on the podcast and one of the most important conversations I have ever shared. Harry discusses the primary roots of oppression, injustice, and racism that exists in the United States. There are a lot of layers. It’s not as simple as putting one blanket statement on a cardboard box and going out and yelling about it. There is a deep injustice happening among our fellow human beings and it is our duty to uncover it. Harry is an activist, scholar, and poet and founder of New Earth, an organization playing an integral part in reforming the juvenile justice nationwide system. In 2017, Harry was honored as a CNN Hero and in 2018 selected as an inaugural Obama Foundation Fellow. Harry is an invaluable character with invaluable information to share. I hope my conversation with Harry will help you begin to peel back the layers. An Honest Conversation on Racism with Robert Fergusson
Let's talk about Black Lives Matter. Some people believe protesting and posting on social media is the most effective way to bring about change in our country, although I believe the most effective way is to become better educated on exactly what is happening, as well as have open dialog and honest conversations to help better understand. In this episode of the Align Podcast, I'm joined by Robert Fergusson who shares his experience growing up as an African American with the racism and injustice in our country. He also shares his approach to supporting the movement and his best advice for how we can make an actual change. I cannot thank Robert enough for providing me with a new perspective on the movement. I hope you enjoy the conversation and find it as beneficial as much as I did.

Mike Wasilisin of MoveU: Embracing Pain to Build the Life You Want for Yourself
In this episode of the Align podcast, special guest Mike Wasilisin talks about the power of embracing pain. We chat about how everyone has the ability within them to achieve whatever it is they want to achieve and how everyone can live an unbelievable life that is free from pain. But in order to get there, we need to endure the pain, as it's a necessary part of growth, both physically and mentally. So instead of avoiding the pain, we need to steer towards it to live the life we want for ourselves. Mike is the founder of MoveU, a step by step method for helping you develop positional presence, a state of whole-body symmetry where you’re constantly observing, and correcting your body’s position with your muscles to achieve balance and strength. Prior to MoveU, Mike had a clinical practice that led him to work around the clock, with no room for a personal life. Realizing this isn’t the life he wanted for himself, he dedicated every free moment to building the life he truly wanted that allowed him to commit to his higher purpose: inspiring the world to transform pain into a powerful mind and body. A Conversation on Covid-19 with Dr. Christian Gonzalez, MD
In this episode of the Align podcast, I chat with returning guest Dr. Christian Gonzalez on the happenings in the world right now. We discuss: Are the numbers screwed? And why are they screwed? Are face masks actually effective? Is quarantining the best solution flattening the curve? Is a vaccine the ultimate solution? Is over-sanitizing helping or hurting our immunity? What are alternative measures we can be taking to strengthen our immunity? Why is our free speech being taken away? It’s important to note this is a conversation and not to be taken as hard facts. Now more than ever it is important for you to question everything you hear, do your own research, and take everything with a grain of salt. Although, I hope this conversation provides you with a new perspective and challenges you to rethink and question what is happening in the world today. Dr. Gonzalez is a naturopathic doctor who earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Rutgers University and his Medical Doctorate at the University of Bridgeport's College of Naturopathic Medicine.   Dr. Gonzalez's previous episode on the podcast: Dr. Christian Gonzalez: Gut Biome, Meaning of Cancer, Fecal Transplants | Ep. 242     Find more from Dr. Gonzalez: Instagram: @doctor.g_ Podcast: Heal Thy Self

Byron Katie: Living in a Timeless State of Mind
In this episode of the Align Podcast, I chat with my dear friend, Byron Katie, who shares invaluable insight into living in the present moment. Through this conversation, you will have a deeper understanding of how our unhappiness, stress, and anxiety all stem from our lack of living in our now. And through simply shifting our perspective to the moment we are living in, we are able to experience our life to the fullest. We also dive into how to come to terms with our death, un-trapping ourselves from the story we are living in, and many more mindfulness nuggets you don’t want to miss.    About Byron Katie:  In 1986, at the bottom of a ten-year spiral into depression, rage, and self-loathing, Byron Katie woke up one morning to a state of constant joy that has never left her. She realized that when she believed her stressful thoughts, she suffered, but that when she questioned them, she didn’t suffer, and that this is true for every human being. Her simple yet powerful process of inquiry is called The Work. The Work consists of four questions and the turnarounds, which are a way of experiencing the opposite of what you believe. When you question a thought, you see around it to the choices beyond suffering. Katie has been bringing The Work to millions of people for more than thirty years. Her public events, weekend workshops, five-day intensives, nine-day School for The Work, and 28-day residential Turnaround House have brought freedom to people all over the world. Byron Katie’s books include the bestselling Loving What Is, I Need Your Love—Is That True?, A Thousand Names for Joy, and A Mind at Home with Itself. For more information, visit thework.com.   What we discuss: Why we are so serious. 1:30 Duality vs. Unicity 2:30 Katie’s 10-year depression 5:00 Having a timeless state of mind 8:30 Being trapped in our story 14:00 Steps for coming to terms with our own death 25:00 Addiction 38:00 Trauma 42:45   Find more from Byron Katie:  thework.com
