The Central Vista Redevelopment Project, or the revamp of the power  corridor of the country, envisages a new triangular Parliament building,  a common Central Secretariat, the revamping of the 3km-long Rajpath  from the Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate and new residences for the  Prime Minister and the Vice-President.   Ever since the Bhumi Pujan in December 2020, it has come under attack  from various corners.On this episode, Aashish (Author, Columnist,  Public Policy Expert) and Nirav (Banker, Public Policy Commentator)  examine the critique and add depth and perspective to our understanding  of the project. Pune Platform for Covid Relief (PPCR) is an industry led initiative in  Pune, to help augment the medical infrastructure of the city, which was  the epicentre of Wave 1 of the pandemic and is also hit hard in Wave 2.  PPCR is supported by the Maharatta Chambers of Commerce, Industry and  Agriculture (MCCIA) and its members diligently. PPCR is only  supplementary to the administration's efforts and does not seek to  replace any government-led initiatives.   The companies of Pune have raised resources to make Pune the city with  the highest number of ventilators in the country. Mission Vayu was set  up by PPCR to ensure that the city gets an adequate supply of oxygen and  related equipment. Donors from various countries in the world have come  together to collect 30 crores with which PPCR is importing equipment  from various countries like Singapore, Israel and UK.  PPCR has also set up an online facility where donors can collect money  for their own cities in Maharashtra. These funds will be used to augment  medical infrastructure in specific cities. PPCR is hand-holding various  cities in this process.   We spoke to Sudhir Mehta, President MCCIA and the force behind PPCR and  Amit Paranjape, member, MCCIA and active participant in PPCR to  understand the details of Pune's fight against Covid-19. May 1 is  Maharashtra Day and this discussion becomes even more relevant on how  citizen efforts can come together to undertake civic responsibilities.

Advocate Lokenath Chatterjee is the BJP candidate for the Ballygunge  assembly constituency in the ongoing West Bengal assembly elections. The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League kicked off on 9th April. India reported over 15 million confirmed cases of the coronavirus  (COVID-19) as of April 18, 2021. Out of these, over 12.9 million  patients had recovered, while 178 thousand cases were fatal. The number  of people infected with the virus was growing and the government had  swung into action to curtail further spread of the outbreak. Globally,  over 141 million cases of the coronavirus were reported as of April 18,  2021.   India expanded its vaccination programme to include all adults over the  age of 18 starting 1 May amid a deadly second wave of infections. India  has so far administered more than 127 million doses of a coronavirus  vaccine in what is the world's largest inoculation drive.   India launched its vaccination drive on 16 January, restricting it to  healthcare workers and frontline staff - a sanitation worker became the  first Indian to receive the vaccine. The drive gradually expanded to  other age groups - from 1 May, those above 18 years will be the latest  group to become eligible.   In this special live episode of Bharatvaarta, we are decoding India's  massive COVID-19 vaccination drive.
