The Life-Changing Practice of Inner Bonding with Dr. Margaret Paul

Meet Dr. Margaret Paul Dr. Margaret Paul is a bestselling author of 12 published books, relationship expert, and co-creator of the powerful Inner Bonding® self-healing process. She has appeared on numerous radio and television shows, including Oprah. Margaret is a member of the Transformational Leadership Council. Dr. Paul has been recognized as a luminary and leader in the field of psychology and personal growth by Jack Canfield, Alanis Morissette, Neale Donald Walsch, and John Gray, to name a few. First off, I firmly believe that there is a crisis of self-abandonment and a lack of self-love and self-kindness. We dove deep into how to change this disturbing habit and belief system that can wreak havoc on your immune system and body. I know from my own experience that my own past health issues with my thyroid and immune system had everything to do with not knowing how to honor my feelings or take care of myself. I have no doubt that so many illnesses and physical ailments are due to a lack of self-care, self-love, self-kindness, and ultimately self-abandonment. You will learn in this conversation the powerful process of Inner Bonding, one that Dr. Margaret has used with thousands of patients (including herself), and how to use this healing process with yourself. I highly recommend you get her book, The Inner Bonding Workbook, and make your own Inner Bonding work a real priority. If you need any proof, watch Dr. Margaret on my YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/juliereisler) and you will see the pure joy and love emanating out of her and how kind the years have been through this work (seriously, you won't believe that she is 83). What Does Self-Abandonment Really Mean Self-abandonment is when you are taking care of everyone else but yourself. Most of us are trained to abandon ourselves because our culture, family of origin, religion, or surroundings teach us that it is selfish to care for ourselves first. You can't do this without experiencing physical symptoms. Self-care is actually the opposite of selfishness because it's about taking responsibility for yourself and your well-being. You then take yourself out of the victim mode. Blaming others for your well-being and issues is actually selfish. Taking care of yourself relieves the burden of others taking care of you. Get the difference? This is a powerful distinction. The Inner Bonding process is all about moving out of our head focus into a body focus so we can learn to truly love ourselves, and receive guidance from our Higher Self for the rest of our life. The 6-Step Process to Inner Bonding: Be willing to be present with your feelings, including those of loneliness, pain, sadness, and despair. You'll go back to being present and take responsibility for your feelings so that you can get out of your head and into your body and heart. Breathe into your heart and be open to learning about how to love yourself. In this step, you will start to gain access to your higher self, when your frequency is high enough. Keep your body clean with healthy, nourishing, clean organic foods. Keep your thoughts clear and clean as well. Eating well is loving to your body and your whole self. Because Spirit exists at such a high frequency, the more you are in alignment with this energy level, the more you can get 'at will divine guidance'. Imagine a wiser part of yourself (500 years older) full of power, truth, and wisdom, and invite that higher self part of you in. This is the 'loving adult' that lives within each of us. In doing this you'll develop new neural pathways in the brain. Breathe back into your feelings. For example, if you felt numb and depressed, go back into those feelings and imagine these feelings as your inner child. Ask this part of you: 'How am I treating you? What am I telling you?' We caused our own self-abandonment, so this step is crucial for taking responsibility and discovering how we're abandoning ourselves. This is connecting to our younger self, our 'wounded ego self', which is also Character 2 for those who have read Whole Brain Living by Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, or heard either of our two interviews. To listen to either interview, go to: https://youtu.be/gox_ZIwZdpk or https://youtu.be/_LisJ6vFwEk. There's always a belief, usually about fear, to better understand and discover. Dialogue with your higher guidance about your false beliefs. Ask this part of yourself: 'What is loving to me? What is in my highest good right now?' Take loving action (the more you do this, the more you're programming yourself to be kind and loving to yourself in thought and action) Go back to how you are feeling --- if it's a loving action, you'll feel relief and you won't feel shame or fear. Inner Bonding is about knowing you are never alone and that you can access your Higher Guidance at any time. Your guidance is ALWAYS there, my friend. My favorite quote from our conversation (which brought tears to my eyes) was this: "We're on the planet to evolve our ability to love". I agree with Dr. Margaret, this is the purpose of connecting to your You-est You. May you remember this goal to be more loving and expand your capacity for love, in all ways, always. Radical Radiance with Savor Beauty CEO, Angela Jia Kim

Meet Angela Jia Kim Angela Jia Kim is a former concert pianist and founder of Savor Beauty + Spa, a Manhattan-based skincare and spa brand inspired by Korean beauty rituals. She's also the author of Radical Radiance: 12 Weeks of Self-Love Rituals to Manifest Abundance, Beauty, and Joy and the creator of the Savor Beauty Planner, a self-care guide that helps women manifest beauty, brilliance, and balance. To get a copy of Angela's beautiful book (and free gifts), go to radicalradiance.com. I loved this conversation so much in part because Angela is so real, genuine, and full of humility. This is a woman with a passion that was her paycheck --- this passion literally fueled her business and gave her the desire and dedication to build her beauty and self-care hustle into a thriving and well-known business. But, this did not happen overnight! Angela shares her empowering story of how it took thirteen years to turn her dream into a 7 figure operation that is fed by love, collaboration, an abundant mindset, and feminine energy. You are going to love Angela and her inspiring ways to honor yourself and your business (if you're an entrepreneur) in a whole new radiant way. Listen to Your Business, Trust Your Gut Angela shared authentically about feeling envy and frustration in the early days when she was in debt and she could see a peer thriving in a similar business with zero financial concerns. It was then she decided that someday she would have a business that took care of her. She is also committed to respecting and listening to her business (which she refers to as a 'goddess of abundance') because it will whisper hints of where it wants to grow. Just like nature, humans, and all living things, your business will naturally want to expand and grow. Sometimes this means making hard choices, like letting go of people that may not be aligned with your values or changing your business model when it seems impossible. What's most important is to trust these inklings, whispers, and gut feelings and have faith while taking inspired action. The Spiritual Way to 7 Figures Angela grew her business in an organic and spiritual way, and it didn't happen all at once. It took 10+ years to build the kind of traction and recognition that she now enjoys today. "Good things take time!" It's important to change your perspective and expectations. Find the joy in what you're doing now, live in abundance now (abundance is redefined below) and lean into the feminine energy of trusting your intuition. We give birth to our business --- it wants to grow, learn and expand. Listen and nurture it so that it can take care of you. A New Definition of Abundance Abundance refers to everything from having an abundance of love, food, connection, resources, and love for what you do. I loved Angela's new definition that looks at abundance in an even more holistic way. She defines it simply as, "Be, Do, Receive". Let's unpack that further. Be - This is about setting time for being, like meditation, visualization, visioning, and space to be. Fill yourself up with abundant affirming statements like "I am glowing. I am radiant. I am abundant". And if you don't feel that yet, you could say "I feel glowing. I am excited to feel abundant. I love feeling radiant." Do - This is a way to express your soul and creativity, not just about doing things to be productive. By doing what is aligned with your being (visualization, meditation, etc) you are able to manifest what matters most to you. You want to nourish to flourish (find self-care activities like yoga, massages, or facials), pull out the weeds (find things you don't love to do and get them done), plant new seeds (reach out to people, network and connect at a heart level) and get ready for miraculous manifestations. Receive - Take in and savor the lessons, gifts, and opportunities for appreciation, collaboration, helping others, and acts of self-love Following this 'Be, Do, Receive' recipe is how you bring abundance into your life. My favorite quote: "How you treat your skin is how you treat your soul." Yup, a mic drop moment if I may say so myself. Share your heart flare and the biggest takeaway from my conversation with Angela in the You-est You Facebook community, in this episode on YouTube or send me an email. How will you increase your focus on her abundance equation to "Be, Do, Receive"? And remember, it takes time to build something beautiful that will take care of you. Make Money Online with Morals with Lisa Johnson

Meet Lisa Johnson Lisa Johnson is a multi-seven-figure Global Business Strategist who makes 90% of her money through passive or semi-passive income streams. In one launch alone during the global pandemic in 2021, she made $3 million in a week - earning $1.2m in the first hour of sales with continued success in 2022 when she made $2.5m in one week. Her business made over $10m in the first five years. After a tough childhood spent in social housing, Lisa went on to have successful careers in law, banking, and the entertainment industry. Her background in overcoming obstacles has helped mold her into a bold, straight-talking coach, who is never afraid to be an authentic and outspoken truth-teller. She took herself from $35,000 in debt to a successful entrepreneur making millions and helping thousands of people in just five years. Lisa has over 50,000 followers across social media and a number one business podcast, Making Money Online which has been listened to across 119 countries and has over 150,000 downloads to date. She has spoken on the BBC's Women's Hour and has been featured in national newspapers and magazines including The Telegraph, Psychologies, The Guardian, and Fast Company. A feature on Lisa in Forbes magazine garnered over a quarter of a million views in one week. Lisa is a huge believer that everyone can become a success no matter their background, is an ambassador for the charity BulliesOut, and is known for her anti-bullying campaigning online. Lisa lives in Bedfordshire, UK with her husband and twin sons but coaches around the globe. Lisa is one of the most genuine and authentic women business owners I know. Her story is going to inspire and empower you to realize that your strengths are to be honored and that you can do, be or have anything. The bigger reminder here is to honor your own values, integrity, and morals. I'm here for that, and know you are too! From Welfare to Wealth Lisa grew up on welfare and struggled throughout her childhood and teen years being bullied because she was poor. While this kind of traumatic experience could have deterred anyone, Lisa used it as fuel for her inner fire to become prosperous and follow her talents. She talked about starting a banking job making decent money and then deciding to get into wedding planning in the UK to supplement her income. She had twin boys, had recently gotten divorced, and realized she needed more money to support her children. She racked up a bit of debt and realized she needed to learn about business, inside and out. A year or so later she got back into the wedding business and started increasing her revenue, but started to notice what she was really good at was explaining to others what to do to make money using strategy. She loved teaching and helping other business owners and soon pivoted to start her business as a global business strategist. Redefining Success In Lisa's first year as a business strategist, she made close to $220,000 working 80 hours/week, doing many one-to-one sessions with clients. She realized after taking a hard look at her business and the model she was working in, that she actually doesn't like one-to-one work and prefers one-to-many (such as groups, masterminds, etc). This was eye-opening for Lisa, and she decided to shift gears and change her business model completely. What I think is fascinating is that most people would get scared and worried about losing clients, money, and success, but Lisa leaned into her strength and what was true for her. She scaled her business, worked 30 hours/month, and made $2 million dollars in year two in this updated model that was in alignment with her energy and strengths. We talked a lot about the power of both redefining success and what business model (or way of working) is best for your interests and how you are designed. Here are some of the key points, and my favorite question from Lisa's wisdom on success: 1) The question to ask yourself is "What does success mean to me?" 2) You need to find a business model that is true for you and works for your favorite way to be of service. That might mean doing only 1:1 sessions, 1 to many, or a hybrid...or something else. Don't just follow what others are doing. Stop, pause and ask yourself what's the best model for you. 3) Tap into your strengths and use them as your guidepost! 4) You'll never feel fulfilled until you know and experience your version of success. Get clear on what that means for you. 5) Stop chasing money, instead choose happiness. Enjoy the in-between! Morals over Money When in doubt, choose morals over money. Lisa shared her story of turning down a pricey trip to Neckar Island with a group of well-known entrepreneurs after realizing it was not aligned with her values. This meant losing money but not compromising her morals. Let your values be your guide and remember that the goal is not to get external validation, but to make a bigger impact. One of my fave quotes: "We all have the ability to make a ripple effect. Don't go for the money, go for happiness and making a difference." He has helped thousands of people transform their life according to their highest values to create their "life masterpiece." I was blown away by Dr. Demartini's life story and how he came into this transformational work. As a boy, he was told he would never read, write or amount to anything! Today, John Demartini has helped billions of people to change their beliefs, stories, and habits to fully live out their values and ultimately love their life. Tune in to hear the 13 most important questions to ask yourself (honestly) to find out if you're living out your values. As John said, every human being lives moment by moment with a set of priorities and a hierarchy of values that are specific to them. John then created a Values Criteria (found on his website - I took it and it's awesome) that will help you know what your actual values are. If you are aligned with your top values, you will excel and wake up with a momentum that's unstoppable. Your life demonstrates what you value. The Values Criteria These are the 13 questions to ask yourself to see how you are (or aren't) living according to your life values. Space: What are the top 3 items in your space where you spend the most time? Time: Where are the top 3 places where you hang out or spend your time? Energy: What are the top 3 things that give you energy? Money: Where are the top 3 places you spend your money? Organized: What are the top 3 areas with the most order or where you're most organized? Disciplined: Where are the top 3 areas you are most spontaneously disciplined? What are the top 3 things you're thinking about most in how you'd love your life to be that's showing evidence of coming true? What are the top 3 things you visualize about how you want your life to be that's showing evidence of being true? What are the top 3 things you have internal dialogues about that you'd love your life to be like that are coming true? What top 3 conversations do you keep coming back to and want to converse about? What are the top 3 things that inspire you most and what's in common with the top 3 people who inspire you most? Whare are the 3 most consistent and persistent goals that show evidence of coming true? What are the top 3 things you spontaneously want to feed your mind with? Look for the patterns in these questions. Be honest with yourself and give yourself permission to do what's true for your 'You-est You'. If you are ready for greater support to overcome self-doubt and stop your own internal 'not enough' voice so you can step into your genius and design your best life, connect with Julie to see if she is the right fit to coach and mentor you. Why Self-Care Isn't Selfish

Meet Julie Reisler Julie Reisler is a certified master life coach with over ten years of coaching experience and a master's degree in health & wellness coaching from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. Julie is the founder of the Life Designer® Coach Academy, a certification for life coaches, and a professor at Georgetown University. She is also the host and founder of the You-est You® Podcast, which is now in over 175 countries with 300+ episodes, and the author of Get a PhD in YOU. Julie has been featured in Forbes magazine, MindBodyGreen, Bustle, The Chopra Center and Thrive Global. She is also a prominent teacher, course creator, and guide on the popular app, Insight Timer. To learn more about Julie and how she might support you on your You-est You journey, go to juliereisler.com. Let's get one thing straight here, you are the one living with yourself for hopefully a very long time. Taking care of yourself; mind, body, emotionally, and spiritually is one of the kindest things you can do for, yes, yourself, but also for others around you and the world. No one will ever be able to care for you the way you can, and although it might feel awkward at first, or even wrong, don't let that deter you from making self-care a priority. Here's why...you were probably raised in a society, culture, family, or maybe even religion that told you spending time on yourself is selfish. Like many of us, you might have beliefs and thoughts about the importance of putting others first. We're often taught that to be a good person is to put others first. I'm going to share why this is faulty thinking and can lead you down the path of overwhelm, burnout, and even chronic illness. Self-care is Self-love The bottom line is that the more you take care of yourself, the more you have to help others. The more aligned, grounded, hopeful, healthy, and well you feel, the more you have to give these qualities to others you love and care about. As Oprah shares in many of her motivational talks, your cup must runneth over so you can give from a full cup, not an empty one. Redefining Selfish Ok, let's come clean here. How many of you feel guilty even seeing the word selfish? I'm guessing most of you felt some pang of discomfort reading that word. Let's agree that our society has created a negative connotation around being selfish. It's used in arguments to suggest that you care about yourself more than your spouse, partner, child, parent, or friend. Somehow you are deemed a 'bad' person by focusing on your own needs or desires and wants first. There is an inherent negative judgment wrapped up in this word. Being called selfish is usually not what we're aiming to hear or be associated with. Here's the secret, everyone by definition is 'selfish' because you can only come from your own viewpoint, from your view within yourself. You by default have a personalized filter that sees the world by the sum total of your past experiences. This is natural and part of how we're designed. I'm not saying that you should care only about yourself and live a myopic existence. What I am conveying, is that in order to give fully and be a contribution to your family, friends, careers, society, and the world, you need to take care of your full self; mind, body, and soul. As defined, selfishness can be described as being concerned excessively or exclusively with oneself (Merriam-Webster dictionary). In contrast, I propose that the word self-full could be defined as concerned with or responsible for the care of yourself; mind, body, and soul. It's important to be filled up and feel full within yourself. Not full of yourself, but full within you. No one else, not your significant other or best friend, can do that or give that to you, nor are they responsible for your fulfillment. Why Self-Care is NOT Selfish Here's the other irony about being selfish, and read this carefully. The. Most. Important. Relationship. Is. The. One. With. Yourself. No matter what anyone else tells you, you can't argue with the fact that you will be with yourself for the rest of your life. You can't give away what you don't have. If you are focused only on giving to everyone else, then you become depleted, frustrated, annoyed, cranky, and low energy. Giving from a place of depletion does not lead to loving acts of kindness, service, or being your truest, you-est you. First, you must give yourself permission. By giving yourself the permission and time to engage in self-loving acts, you are giving those around you permission to do this as well. The same is also conversely true. Become Full in Yourself Here's why being "self-full" is good for you: Picture this scenario: you know how it goes though; you get up and snooze, only to have enough time to get your teeth brushed, a shower (if you're lucky) and your children's lunch in their bag (if they're lucky) with breakfast on the go in the car. It is on those kinds of days, that being self-full is that much more important. I know in those crazy rushed moments, taking time to meditate, journal, focus on gratitude, and take myself to tea and a yoga class is essential for my health, mindset, well-being, and how I show up as a parent later that afternoon at carpool pick up. Some might say I'm selfish to take 2 hours to do these activities during the day. I've found that it's one of the most loving things I can do for myself, my family, and for others. Not to mention, I took time to lower my stress response, eat a nutrient-dense meal, move my body with mindfulness, and reboot after a challenging morning. Some of the ways you can fill yourself up are through daily meditation, creating empowering vision boards, taking out processed food, drinking more water, doing some kind of movement and connecting with nature (I highly recommend hugging a tree - seriously) or just something you know that brings you joy. My typical daily practice is to do something self-full in each of these areas; mind, body, and soul. When I do, I feel calmer inside, focused, steady, vibrant, positive, and deeply connected to my higher self and purpose. This elevates all of my relationships, most importantly the one with myself. I encourage you to give yourself permission to be 'selfish', in fact, redefine that way of being as self-full, understand the role it plays in your health; your mind, body, and soul, and know deep in your heart that a self-full you allows you to become to the truest, you-est you. More Expert Tips For Greater Self-Care Having clear boundaries -- saying no to opportunities, invites, and anything that is not a full yes Daily meditation or mindfulness practice (consistency is key) -- start small with a 5-minute guided meditation, breathwork, or 20-minute nature walk Connect with others who bring you joy and raise your energy (in person as much as you can) Eating foods that truly nourish your body and energy (keep processed foods to a minimum and eat whole foods found in their natural form) Energy, sound, and aromatherapy healing practices like Reiki, 528 Hz sound frequencies, and sound bowls Work with a trained coach or therapist (or both) for greater clarity, healing, and empowerment around your goals If you're eager to read my Bustle article, 6 Expert Tips for Finding Success Without Mental Health, click here. How To Live in the Genius Zone with Gay Hendricks

Meet Gay Hendricks Gay Hendricks has been a leader in the fields of relationship transformation and body-mind transformation for more than 45 years. After earning his Ph.D. from Stanford in 1974, Gay served as a Professor of Counseling Psychology at the University of Colorado for 21 years. He has written over 40 books, including bestsellers such as Five Wishes, The Big Leap, Conscious Loving, and Conscious Loving Ever After, (the last two co-authored with his co-author and mate for more than 35 years, Dr. Kathlyn Hendricks). He is also a mystery novelist, with a series of five books featuring the Tibetan-Buddhist private detective, Tenzing Norbu, as well as a new mystery series featuring a Victorian-era London detective, Sir Errol Hyde. His book Conscious Luck reveals eight ways to change your fortune through the power of intention. Gay has appeared on more than 500 radio and television shows, including Oprah, CNN, CNBC, 48 HOURS, and others. His latest book is The Genius Zone. Gay Hendricks has been a mentor from afar for years, and it was such a joy to interview him and share his incredible wisdom, stories, and magic. Get your earbuds, get out there on your walk or drive, and get ready to be wildly inspired. There were so many nuggets of wisdom and deep, honest sharing. I got you covered here with notes. Adding Magic To Your Life Gay Hendricks grew up with his grandparents and mother, as his father tragically died before he was born. He grew up with a lot of anger and frustration that got pushed down with food, sweets, and smoking. Gay shared that the Universe is always teaching you a lesson; it's just whether you're listening or not. He got tapped on the shoulder by the Universe when he was 24 years old in 1969. Gay was living in NH in an apartment, in a relationship and life he didn't like, and was carrying a good 150+ extra pounds. He fell on the ice and had a two-minute experience that changed his life. For the first time in his life, he could see all the levels of himself --- all the emotional layers that he hadn't felt, like anger, sadness, and eventually, in the middle was pure consciousness. He decided that day and committed to a new way of doing life. He made a declaration to himself and the Universe and committed to feeling this state of pure consciousness all the time, but without needing to fall down. He chose foods that fed pure consciousness (like blueberries instead of cheeseburgers, donuts, and blueberry pancakes) and committed to honoring his mind and body. Later that next day, he was invited to another event that also would change the course of his life. His friend took him to an event with a former Harvard professor who had gone to India and come back enlightened. He got to meet and hear Ram Dass in person and was turned on to meditation. This was just the beginning of the magic that has been a blessing in his life (like finding his wife Kathlyn) since he committed to being honest, taking responsibility, and honoring his creativity. Living in the Genius Zone Here's one of my favorites from Gay Hendricks in our conversation --- he said that 'Genius is contagious'. We are all meant to live in the genius zone. This is the zone where you are doing what you love without a sense of time lapsing while honoring your unique abilities. Gay Hendricks shared that within 20 years, he went from spending 10% of his time in the genius zone to 100% of his time in this zone, and because of this shift. And now, life feels like one continued blessing and gift. I realized that in this conversation, being your You-est You inherently means aligning and living in the genius zone. Some ways to discover your genius zone is to ask yourself what you love to do, where you lose a sense of time doing what you love, and what your specialized and unique abilities are. For example, thanks to Gay, I realized my genius zone is doing my podcast -- both in interviewing guests, sharing my thoughts, and creating a show that changes lives. I'd love to hear what you think your genius zone is! We all have them! Share in the You-est You Facebook community, or send me an email. The Upper Limit Problem Gay Hendricks goes into great depth about a ULP, the Upper Limit Problem. In sum, this is when you sabotage yourself when things go well. Gay teaches how to expand your capacity and override this pattern so that you learn how to experience greater lengths of joy and good. One of the ways to do this is to use what he calls the Ultra Success Mantra (USM), which I have on my desk and say daily. The USM is: "I expend in abundance, success, and love as I inspire others around me to do the same." What's important is that you are not only expanding the good within you but also creating opportunities to do the same for others. Change Your Relationship to Time If you're like me and you're sick and tired of being sick and tired that there's not enough time, ever, then listen up. Gay Hendricks talked about what he calls Einstein time versus Newtonian time. In Einstein time, you are the cause of your time. Think of it this way, if you sat on a hot stove, a minute would feel like an hour, but if you were hanging with your beloved, an hour would feel like a minute. We are more in charge of our time than we realize. Here's the best way to change this bad habit of making time your enemy and yourself a victim (which never works out well). Stop talking about time as a victim, and stop blaming time for things you can't do. You'll never have enough time to do the things you don't want to do. Take responsibility for yourself and your time, and commit to being conscious and mindful of what you say. And, stop making time the culprit and realize you are the cause of your time, your relationships, and your life. Final Thoughts Gay Hendricks shares not only the importance of living in the genius zone so you can fully be present and live a life you fully enjoy but how to slow down time to truly savor it. Be sure to pick up a copy of The Genius Zone today. To learn more about Gay Hendricks' incredible programs and work go to: www.hendricks.com. Secrets for Healing Your Gut with Sara Keough

Meet Sara Keough Sara Keough MS, CNS, LDN, is an "Eco-Nutritionist". She began her career in ecological work in her home state of Colorado and now practices as a clinical nutritionist in Maryland. She supports patients with a wide variety of health conditions, including digestive issues, autoimmune disorders, heart disease, diabetes, and metabolic disorders. Educating patients on the value of nutrient-dense foods and rewilding their microbiomes by consuming food from local, regenerative farmers is vitally important in her practice as this is an essential component of their healing process. Sara utilizes advanced functional testing in her practice to address the root cause of her patient's issues and to nourish their inner ecosystem. Sara Keough has been helping me on my journey with healing my thyroid, and I'm glad to share her wisdom, perspective, and knowledge to help you with your health and well-being. As always, please take what you like and leave the rest. The Body Can Heal Let's first start by remembering that our bodies are incredible at self-healing. They are designed to heal and be restored to complete health. Knowing this is crucial, especially if you are working on healing yourself from any kind of condition. It's crucial to affirm and know how powerful your body is. I personally believe that autoimmune disorders are intricately connected to a lack of self-love and self-compassion. Through my inner healing work, I've been learning that one of the most important things I can do is put my self-care first and prioritize loving myself. This might feel awkward and problematic at first, but if you stay with me and put your health first, it will be one of the most important things you can do for your health, well-being, and life. What Is Your Gut Microbiome? Healing your gut comes down to the microbiome. Think of the gut microbiome as a diverse garden. You want lots of variety of plants, flowers, and crops without weeds or dry soil. What's happening is that for many, we're decimating the beneficial, healthy species because of overconsumption of sugar, processed foods, antibiotics and chemicals, and toxins. Over time this can create fungal, yeast, or bacteria overgrowth. Ideally, you want a gut biome that's a flourishing ecosystem in harmony and full of diversity. Secrets for Healing Your Gut Some basic ways for healing your gut are chewing your food thoroughly, eating fermented foods, and increasing your stomach acid and enzymes with good probiotics, prebiotics, and digestive tonics. Sara Keough shares her favorite digestive tonic, which is made with: 1 quart of water 1/4 c of Apple Cider Vinegar 1/4 c of lemon juice 1/4 c of raw honey (or don't add if you're sensitive to sugar) and grated ginger root. This tonic is an excellent way to aid your digestion and help with gut healing. You'll want to drink 4 oz with every meal and keep a fresh batch weekly. Sara also recommended supporting your local farmers and buying local whenever possible. How To Be Loving with Danielle LaPorte

Meet Danielle LaPorte Danielle LaPorte is a member of Oprah's SuperSoul 100, a group who, in Oprah Winfrey's words, "is uniquely connecting the world together with a spiritual energy that matters." The former director of a future studies think tank in Washington, DC, where she managed a team creating global scenarios, she now speaks about the intelligence of the heart. Her most recent book, How To Be Loving: When Your Heart Is Breaking Open and Our World Is Waking Up, is also an Audiobook + eBook with a companion deck and journal––to be released in October 2022. Danielle is also the author of The Fire Starter Sessions, The Desire Map, and White Hot Truth, and producer of dozens of meditation kits and online programs for spiritual support. Danielle is the creator of the Heart Centered Membership and the Heart Centered Leaders Program, with 400+ leaders in 30 countries hosting conversation circles, retreats, and workshops in all kinds of communities and businesses. Her podcast, With Love, Danielle, often ranks in iTunes' top 10 for wellness. Most of her offerings—from the Heart Centered Membership to her online classes—are on a pay-what-you-choose basis. Named one of the Top 100 Websites for Women by Forbes, millions of people a month visit DanielleLaPorte.com. Marianne Williamson refers to Danielle "as a bright light." V (formerly known as Eve Ensler) calls her "a force field of energy, wonder, humor, and love." Her charities of choice are Ally Global Foundation, helping survivors of human trafficking to rebuild their lives (@allyglobal), Trees Sisters'Sisters' reforestation projects (@treesisters_official), and VDay, a movement to end violence against women and girls (vdayorg). Danielle LaPorte lives in Vancouver, BC. You can find her on most places on social media @daniellelaporte. This book is so incredibly wise, and you'll want to listen more than once. We discussed Danielle's newest book, How To Be Loving, published by Sounds True, in great depth especially focusing on the tricky parts we often don't accept, allow or embrace. Put on your seatbelt and get ready for a powerful journey within… Loving The Ego The old way of viewing the ego is to see it as something to banish, get rid of, override or overcome. I loved Danielle LaPorte's approach and her focus on loving it all, including your ego. Yes, your ego needs and deserves love too. As she said, "I created it. And as the mother of it all, I am responsible for loving and caring for every aspect of myself." Danielle does this by telling her ego that she's not leaving or abandoning this part of herself, and as she said, ''I got you.'' This means having a conversation with ourselves that is loving, compassionate, and unconditional. This means loving your insecurities and anything you wish you could change. Learn to love it as it is. Accept it as it is. Thank this part of you, as it brings the opportunity to love yourself even more. Woah, that's a big reframe if I've ever seen one. Try it, and let me know what you think and feel. What is it like to truly call in love for every single aspect of yourself? Self-Improvement Gone Bad The issue for many of us steeped in the self-improvement world is the incessant desire to constantly evolve, awaken and become enlightened. There's nothing wrong with wanting to grow, but this non-stop desire can actually be the ego, or the spiritual ego, incognito. Underneath the striving is this belief that you need to do these things to be worthy in God's eyes. Danielle LaPorte explains a better and more loving way to see this. You were born whole. This is liberating because it means you don't have to push, strive and work hard for worthiness. You are already worthy because you were born. In reality, what we're also talking about is the energy from which you're coming. It's more energizing to come from a celebratory focus versus striving. But in the end, self-compassion is the whole point. Be compassionate to everyone, including yourself. You can do this by identifying with your light and heart. Over and over again. Power Redefined I love how Danielle La Porte talks about and explains receptivity. In essence, the way that we receive the cues from the Universal mind is through receptivity. The way to being receptive is through stillness and calming down your nervous system, mind, and overall being. Silence and stillness become your best allies as they help you to slow down and tap into the universal intelligence waiting for you to pay attention. As you connect to your divine downloads, you tap into a power that is beyond your mind, ego, and limited understanding. This is power redefined and it starts with being receptive. As Danielle said, "the light WANTS to come in." We then need to learn to pause, be our own guru, and allow for the light to come in. The Secret To It All The most important ingredient not to be overlooked is the power of forgiveness. Here are a few powerful questions to ponder as they relate to forgiveness: Who can you forgive today? What would it look like to forgive them? How would it feel in your body, mind, and soul to fully forgive them? Grab your journal and pen and start tuning in and writing. There's euphoria waiting for you from forgiveness. Final Thoughts Danielle LaPorte explains how to be loving is more than just a concept, it begins by confronting the tricky parts like loving the ego. Learn How To Stop Feeling 'Not Enough' with Julie Reisler

Meet Julie Reisler Julie Reisler is a mentor and certified master life coach with over ten years of coaching experience and a master's degree in health & wellness coaching from the Maryland University of Integrative Health. Julie is the founder of the Life Designer® Coach Academy, a lifestyle coaching certification. She is also the host and founder of the You-est You® Podcast, which is in over 175 countries, and the author of Get a PhD in YOU. Julie has been featured in Forbes magazine, MindBodyGreen, The Chopra Center, and Thrive Global. She is also a prominent teacher, course creator, and guide on the popular app Insight Timer and is on the faculty at Georgetown University in their graduate wellness coach program. To learn more about Julie and how she might support you on your You-est You journey, go to juliereisler.com. I see you and our growing 'You-est You' community as a movement and way to encourage one another to feel safe enough to express yourself fully. I believe when enough of us can create an environment where others can be their truest selves --- feeling seen, heard, and known at the deepest level, we will have a much safer and more empowering world. It starts, of course, with doing the inner work within to see where we can be more loving and kind to ourselves. In this solo episode, I shared my struggles with the feeling 'I'm Not Enough' syndrome and how comparing myself to others has never worked well. Letting your inner critic drag you down. I'm hoping this talk will inspire you to look within your 'You-est You' so that you can start changing the way you see and feel about your miraculous self. Please let me know what resonates and as always, take what you love and release the rest. Feeling 'I'm Not Enough' Syndrome I can't be the only one here who has experienced the awful feeling 'not enough' syndrome. It happens anytime you somehow measure yourself to someone else or an unrealistic ideal. Allowing your inner critic to corrupt your thoughts and make you feel lesser than others. The problem is that if you're living your life from the lens of "I'm not enough", "It's not enough", or any aspect of not being, having, or doing enough, you will always come up short. Over time you'll create patterns and habits of thought that have you believe that nothing you do is enough and that something is off and wrong with you. As Ben Hardy shared in a recent interview about his book, The Gap and The Gain, co-authored with Dan Sullivan, staying in the gap means consistently looking for where you fall short and how you compare to others. With this outlook, you'll never win. Yet so many of us do this (myself included). Rather, if you're focused on the gain, you'll be looking at how you're doing compared to where you were before or how you've grown and transformed for the better. Basically, we're talking about going from a lack mindset to a growth mindset. You have to rewire your brain for success. I hope that you'll better understand that your beliefs about 'not being enough' are untrue and what is needed is a re-routing of your thought patterns. My intention is to give you tools, strategies, and ways to start a whole new way of seeing yourself and your life from an empowering lens. How To Overcome 'Not Enough' Mean Inner Critic Before I share these powerful tips to stop the mean inner critic, you have to become aware of it. I want you to get a notepad or place to jot down your thoughts and to track your 'not enough' self-talk for a full day. If you can do this for a week, even better, but best to start with a day and see what you find. It's important for you to get how prominent this voice is and what it's actually saying. For example, mine might say something like "that's great you had 20 people at your workshop, but if you were really making an impact, you would have had 100." Oh yeah, she's mean and incessant and constantly comes up with ways to make me feel like I'm not good enough. This voice might also tell me that I should have more social media followers, more toned arms, or compare me to others in my industry, even though we are all unique snowflakes. How about you? What does your 'not enough' voice sound like? I promise not to leave you hanging. Below are my 3 ways to turn this feeling 'not enough' boat around, with a bonus 4th tip because, sigh, 3 were 'not enough'. Pro-tip, you've got to be able to laugh at and with yourself. 1. To Compare Is To Despair I remember hearing this in a 12-step meeting almost 20 years ago. I thought to myself, that's nice, 'to compare is to despair,' yet I didn't fully get it until I really marinated with what this means. I can remember doing this at a young age when I'd be in my leotard for ballet or my swimsuit for the swim team. I let my inner critic drown everything else out. I compared myself to all the other girls in class or on my team and always came up short. I felt less graceful, less athletic, less coordinated, less in shape...I just felt less, less, less. This is not a winning equation. Just like competitive swimming, or driving, you've got to stay in your lane. The minute you swerve into someone else's lane, bad things happen. The moment you notice comparing yourself or feeling 'not enough', remind yourself to get back in your lane and focus on how far you've come in whatever subject you're feeling a sense of lack. Keep practicing this until it becomes your new habit and way of thinking. Note: most new habits take at least 90 - 120 days, so do not give up and remind yourself that everyone wins when we all stay in our lane. 2. It's Time To Redefine 'Enough' Honestly, what does 'enough' even mean? Maybe we're both overachievers, and if so, my guess is that you could have two Master's degrees, 13 certifications, a well-paying job, or a successful business, and you might still feel like you're 'not enough' and that there's more you should or could be doing. The problem with this way of thinking is that you're working with a dangling carrot that continues to move in front of you. You're never going to hit the target and will continuously feel like you've come up short. You might notice this with your 'to do' lists, where it seems you never quite finish any of them and then judge yourself as not being 'enough'. I'd like to redefine enough for all of us. Let's stop making our definition about our accomplishments or achievements. Let's instead reframe 'enough' to be about kindness, love, forgiveness, empathy, and encouragement. Instead, ask yourself, 'Was I kind enough to myself today?' or 'Was I forgiving enough of myself in this situation with my brother?' Do you see and feel the difference? Now you're at least comparing yourself to qualities of the heart and values that inspire and move you. 3. Quiet Your Inner Critic Now please don't make fun of me, but I grew up watching the SNL 'I'm good enough, I'm smart enough' skit with Stuart Smalley (aka Al Franken) and Michael Jordan. While it always made me laugh, in all truth, I was also raised by a mom who loved Louise Hay and had me literally look in the mirror to affirm my worthiness. It used to make me cringe, but now I see it as a gift. Here's the thing, you and I are constantly in the midst of our inner dialogue, much of which is pure crap. Developing new inner talk that's kind, compassionate, loving, affirming, and sweet is way better than the stuff most of us say to ourselves. It's time to change the inner dialogue from mean, crappy, chastising, and 'you're never enough' to something way more empowering like the following affirming statements: * I am enough. * It's enough * I am always right where I need to be * I am always in right divine timing (for my spiritual friends) * I am where I'm meant to be and I can trust myself and the Universe Feels much better, right? Try one of these statements for at least a full day to help rewire your brain and notice how you feel. And of course, share your insights with me in the You-est You Facebook community, on YouTube where I posted this episode, or send me an email. I want to know how this is helping you to reclaim your badassery so you can ditch the feeling 'not enough' shitty voice once and for all. Like Louise Hay often said, "Stop being mean to yourself". 4. Bonus Practice for the Over Achievers I had to add a bonus practice because three clearly isn't enough. I'm laughing with myself here. In this final extra credit practice, define and look at what's enough in these four categories of your life: career, family, health, and relationships. Create realistic goals and intentions, so you know what is enough. An example might be to add more time for regular movement and exercise. Putting on my coaching hat, I'd have you get even clearer by deciding how often you'll be exercising (3 days a week, 5 days a week, every day, etc), for how long (30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour), when you'll exercise (upon waking up, during lunchtime, after dinner) and what kinds of exercise you'll be doing (biking, swimming, dancing, walking, yoga, etc). Gaining clarity will help you realize what enough looks and feels like. This can help when your mind tells you that you didn't move enough or do enough. You can call BS on this voice, knowing it is enough. Try creating clarifying goals within all four areas of life and notice how much better you feel. Remember, you get to design your life and the lane you're in. Do This To Rewire Your Brain for 'Enough' I'd love to know which of these tips and strategies help you the most. While rewiring your brain (thank you, neuroplasticity) doesn't happen overnight, it can change, and you can transform the way you talk to yourself and how you feel about yourself. I'm also going to remind you that you have a unique array of gifts, skills, abilities, and talents that no one else in the world has. You are good enough. You are smart enough. And heck yes, it's time you know this and encourage others to do the same.
