In this episode of the Janes podcast we look at the application of emerging technologies to enhance the value and to drive the development of open-source intelligence or OSINT. For example, we look at the use of artificial intelligence and using algorithms to make sense of enormous data sets. Michael Horowitz is the director of Perry House and the Richard Perry professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He's an acclaimed author of books and peer reviewed articles, often based on his research interests in the intersection of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and robotics, with global politics and military innovation.

He was previously Deputy Director of the Global Counterterrorism Unit at Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served diplomatic postings in Pakistan and Canada.
