Together with Josh Medina she makes a wash of glorious noise using synths and guitars, held together and driven forward by the relentless rhythm section - for this live session it was Laura Seniow on bass, and Benjamin Thomas Kennedy on drums. On the show this time, with a new release under his own name - it’s Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner. Dan Boeckner is of course, one of the frontmen of the band Wolf Parade.  He has been in a few other bands too - including Atlas Strategic, Operators, Divine Fits, and the Handsome Furs.  He’s a solid hard-rockin' guitarist, with a penchant for finding a killer turn of phrase, and then delivering it in his own quirky style, with his unmistakable voice.  His new album is “Boeckner!” available on Sub Pop Records. He is from Puerto Rico, now living in Los Angeles. Pachyman wrote, produced, played, sang, recorded and mixed this latest record at his studio, “333 House.” The album is called 'Switched On' and is available on ATO records. Recorded 04/23/2024. On the show this time, it's the yarn-spinning indie-rock of Portland, Oregon’s The Decemberists. It’s been 6 years since The Decemberists released new music. The Portland-based mini orchestra has been making their infectious folk pop since their formation in 2000. Any myth, epic poem, or historical account is fair game as fodder for their songs. Over the years they’ve built a deeply invested group of fans, written some of the longest of catchy tunes, and have made some of the best sounding records of the past nearly quarter century.   Their latest album, their 9th is called  'As It Ever Was, So Will it Be Again' and is available through their own imprint Youth And Beauty Brigade or .. Drummer and composer Yussef Dayes makes music that embraces tradition, but then puts on a brand new shirt and walks out into the city, ready for anything.  He’s a band leader - having put together a group of monster players to bring this music into existence. The Lewisham native has been in the midst of the current London community ever since he and his brothers were in a band together.  “United Vibrations” was jamming at the house on weekends, busking in the streets, and later putting on shows - including the infamous nights called “12 Tone.”  His debut solo album “Black Classical Music” is available through Brownswood Recordings and Nonesuch Records. Recorded 11/27/23.
