Previously, she established and led the innovation division at British Gas and the net-zero strategy at Centrica Ventures. She started her career as a solar engineer at Fraunhofer, where she headed up Fraunhofer TechBridge, a division dedicated to validating and backing early-stage cleantech. What’s it all about?Solving some of our biggest issues in the C&I (Commercial and Industrial) sectors. Buildings use SO much energy, electricity, heat and of course cooling. What’s it all about?Batteries, glorious batteries. With the exponential growth of battery demand for both electric vehicles, and grid storage, we’re already seeing resource challenges as mining and supply of materials tries to ramp up with this demand.  Given batteries are lasting in EV’s far longer than many expected, I thought large scale recycling of batteries was some time away, but it isn’t for an interesting reason, and it’s not to do with end of life batteries. I also love when entrepreneurs from a fossil fuel, or ‘dirty’ world see the light and create great cleantech businesses. Never has energy been a bigger topic in the average household. The silver lining in the present energy and inflation crisis is that cleantech solutions make even more financial sense, as well as reducing carbon emissions.
