We can change how we see the world by changing who we are. I share my experience in rejecting my diagnoses of fibromyalgia, Hashimoto's disease and Epstein-bar. Should I just decrease the amount of time I sleep to work on my side business? 4. Here are the 7 things I use to maintain optimal health - so then I have a shot at being maximally productive. Fear is the cheapest room in the house

“Fear is the cheapest room in the house - I’d like to see……” It's not unreasonable to experience fear in our lives. It can protect us in many ways. But we don't want it to be our dominant mindset. Keep fear in a very small basement room in your house and in the backseat of your car you're driving. Let's look at how to set your mind so fear is reduced and controlled. Questions: 1. How can I reduce fear in my life? 2. I wish the people around me were kinder. 3. I’m exhausted and lonely - what should I do? 4. How can I stop worrying about the pandemic? 5. What are Ten Characteristics of People who end up Rich? Your greatest joy is your sorrow unmasked

It is often true that we teach best what we've experienced ourselves. Dave Ramsey went broke - now he teaches other people how to avoid making the financial mistakes he made. I went through a major business crash - and now I help others figure out how to navigate unexpected career and business changes. A listener shares his story of overcoming problematic drinking and now others are asking him to help them. Questions: 1. "Why is it so hard to figure out the "what" in choosing a small business to start?” 2. I’m at an impasse and don’t know where to take my skills. 3. I have had NUMEROUS interviews that they seemed excited and then all of a sudden, it flops. 4. I want to strike it on my own but I have this fear of not getting any business. 5. I am retiring from the government after 31 years and have started a leadership consulting business. It just so happens that I retire "48 days" from today. I am looking for some simple checklist items to follow to cover the bases to get this going in the right direction. Which comes first – generosity or wealth?

Many people assume they will be generous as soon as they get wealthy with all their bills paid, retirement funded and the kids' college funds in place. But giving first may in fact be the door opener to wealth. Our potential for wealth is not shown in our bank account as much as it is in the attitude of our heart. Questions: 1. How are you giving in creative ways this Christmas? 2. How can you be generous even if you’re not rich? 3. Who is someone who has been generous to you? 4. Are you as good at receiving as you are at giving? Where did you stop dreaming?

I recently had an experience that rocked my thinking. I thought I had left an inspiring office at our old house and that I'd have to settle for just a functional room at our new house. And then I experienced something that made me question - in what other areas of my life have I assumed this is as good as it gets? Questions: 1. Are you looking for security - or freedom? 2. Are you thinking like a turkey or an eagle? 3. Which of these 10 traits describe you? 4. How my prized bronze eagle came to life. You too can be a highly trained, poor, enthusiastic underachiever!

One of my pet peeves is seeing people who want to get a new job or start a new business who are buying programs, going to expensive conferences, paying for software and web design, joining expensive masterminds for an extended period of time - and not making money. Always getting ready. "Getting cooked in the squat" as Zig Ziglar told in his story. Questions: 1. How can we keep our traditional education establishments from choking out our youth's creativity and innovation? 2. How can we learn to love uncertainty? 3. What do you recommend for a guy that likes his job but realizes there is no future in the company? 4. What do you predict in terms of changing work models for this brave new world? 5. Why can't I listen to my wife and just be content with what is successful. But are you sure you’re right?

There is a concept called "confirmation bias" which means we tend to find information that supports what we already believe. While we'd like to think our opinions are based on rational analysis, the truth is our opinions are more likely the result of years of paying attention to information that supports our current beliefs. I tell a story that made me question my own ability to recognize "truth". Questions: 1. Here are my suggestions for brands to be associated with 48 Days 2. But I don’t have 15 hours a week with everything I’m doing now. 3. How would you choose life vs career? Find the show notes at https://www.48days.com/truth
