I Remember and I See

Antonio reads an essay originally published at The Unusual Collective's website and leads to a contemplation of what he calls "Photo DNA." Tune in to hear what that means exactly. Also, this essay is published on YouTube in a video slideshow format, for those interested in seeing the images Antonio is referring to.   Show Links: The Unusual Collective / photographer group Ward Rosin’s Website, Instagram feed and Facebook page. Dispatches from the Studio

It's Antonio alone this episode and while he meant it to be another Dispatches from Green-Wood, the audio gremlins acted up and, well... Antonio is asking about how everyone archives their work and also ponders those "then and now" images. Also, a quick "review" of some crazy software. Note: The show "The Alienist was broadcast on TNT network and not on AMC as Antonio mentioned. Oops.    Links: Images mentioned in the show. Shallow DoF

(© antonio m. rosario) Ward and Antonio do a quick post mortem to last episode's interview with Melissa Breyer and talk about Antonio's guest spot on Bart Busschot's "Let's Talk Photography" podcast. Then they discuss why some folks just love shallow depth of field.   Links: Let's Talk Photography podcast Ward Rosin’s Website, Instagram feed and Facebook page. A Herzog Appreciation

(Midway Gamblers, Calgary, 2019 ©Ward Rosin)   I'm joined by Ward Rosin on this episode as we dive into Fred Herzog's "Modern Color" book. Not a review, per se, but more of an appreciation. Herzog is one of those "colorist" street photographers from the late 50s and 60s, photographing mainly in the city of Vancouver, Canada. Ward and I skim through some of the more thought provoking images in the book as well as discuss the controversy of a 2012 interview with Herzog. Also, stay tuned until the end where I make a much anticipated announcement.   Show Links: The Estate of Fred Herzog     Saul Leiter Ernst Haas Walker Evans Eugène Atget Bart Busschots Ward Rosin's Website, Instagram feed and Facebook page. Lens Hangover

For this first show of 2021, I have the pleasure of chatting with my buddy Ward Rosin again. This episode we're going on about my lens-buying binge during the past ten months and just lenses in general. Also, Ward tells us about his new lens "lemonade" stand. It's a bit of a long show and you'll prove your fandom if you listen to the whole thing. So grab your beverage of choice...   Show Links: Ward Rosin's Website, Instagram feed and Facebook page.
