Matthew Shelton, a teacher at Robert Semple Elementary School in Benicia, California, is charged with multiple counts of lewd acts with a child. At the same time, the families of multiple former students have filed lawsuits against Shelton and the school district. A Houston judge raised 18-year-old Everilda Cux-Ajtzalam’s bond to $200,000 as she faces a charge of abandoning her newborn. The baby boy was found wrapped up in a plastic bag inside a dumpster, with the placenta and umbilical cord in the bag as well. Cux-Ajtzalam allegedly told police that she did it because she didn’t want her boyfriend to break up with her. Emilia Sjoberg, 14, was found dead at an industrial site in Landskrona, Sweden last week. Authorities say she had severe injuries, but have not released her cause of death. Two other teenagers were arrested in connection with Sjoberg’s kidnapping and murder. Sjoberg’s mother says she was supposed to go to a sleepover but never came home.
