I'm Danica Patrick and I'm Pretty Intense!
I believe that each and every one of us has the power within ourselves to create the life that we really want. And I want to inspire you to go conquer your dreams, both professionally and personally.
That's why I created this podcast.
We can learn together with intense discussions with my guests about life, inspiring ideas and ultimately realize our true best self.
Our guests will be from all aspects of life: They're going to be family, friends, celebrities, musicians, artists, experts and entrepreneurs.
Sometimes people haven't necessarily been asked a certain question or maybe someone hasn't thought a certain way or even challenge themselves. And I feel like for me: I got that therapy through interviews. So, this podcast is going to be intense therapy!
We're gonna go as deep as we can possibly go with people and learn what learn how they what they did, and how you can too.
Join me for this deep dive...my only warning is, it could get Pretty Intense!

Trevor Hall
Today on the show we have my absolute favorite artist, Trevor Hall. My friend Stacey turned me on to his music years ago, and I remember when she asked for it to be put on and I was listening to country or something like that. And she was like, “Do you mind if I put some of my music on?” I was like, “OK….” But I'm a little protective of the music. And she put it on, and I never turned it off. Trevor is a fantastic artist. He has a lot of heart, a lot of soul. He writes it all himself. He just has a really cool story. His dad is a tennis pro that sells real estate. And the first time I met his dad, he had a polo on tucked into his jeans with a belt. He is the classic all-American looking guy. And then there's Trevor, who's, tattoos and, definitely much more laid-back kind of hippie vibe. And he's an artist and he's singing about spirituality. Look, I want to know how the hell that guy turns into that guy? Like, how did that happen in his family? So, we talked about that. We talked about travel. We talked about how music impacts him. And we talked about personal growth and how we can expand as human beings into a space that's not only better for others, but ultimately better for ourselves. So please enjoy.

Tony Kanaan
Today we're talking to Tony Kanaan, who is an Indy car driver and was a team-mate of mine. So for me, I was really interested in hearing about him as a person in his life. That's just stuff you don't get into when you're friends. You just kind of going about your life and your work. But I really wanted to dive into that. And so we did. And he had a lot of really great perspective on the challenges of not just the job itself, because it's hard. But really what I wanted to know about his life. So we talked about the balance of that and how to grow as a human being to being a happier person. Please enjoy.

Bobby Flay
Today on the show is Bobby Flay. Fantastic chef. New York City boy that made it big. I went on his show. He's a great guy. He's funny. We have a lot of similar interests. And one of them that came up was his love for horses and horse racing. And oh, my gosh: Horseracing and race cars are very similar. I knew that horsepower and horses were both very expensive. But it turns out they actually have a lot of really common themes too. So we talked about that. We talked about things that he's done in his life that have really been meaningful to him. He took a trip to Rome and spent five weeks by himself. So I thought that was really inspiring. And we talked about why. We talked about how he felt about it and how that maybe changed his life forever. That trip, with just him and his cat, Nacho!! Please enjoy.

Howie Mandel
Let me just set the scene up for you: I arrive 45 minutes early for Howie’s interview. I'm sitting on the couch. And I'm thinking, “I'm going to take the notes that I've done while researching Howie and put them onto my blue note cards that I always have in front of me”. It helps me remember. But also it's a reference if I want to make sure that there's a topic I want to dive into. Because sometimes you get into a conversation and you forget to ask things. Like, how many times have you been in an argument or in a good conversation and you’re like, “Oh, man, I should have asked that!!!” And I don't want to do that with these wonderful people that are giving me this hour, hour and a half of their time. I want to get it all in. So I make notes. And I'm over on the couch and here Howie comes walking in. And he's like, “Are we ready?” And I'm like, “Oh, God, I haven't written my notes on the card yet!!” And I want to make sure I'm prepared. He's like, “You don't need those. Let's just get going.” And he keeps talking and I'm like, “Oh, my gosh…” So I just jot down like, literally almost bullet points, much, much, much thinner amount of information than I normally do. And we sit down. And we just go on and on! And really, when I mean “we”, I mean “he”. Howie is so full of energy. A very positive, “live in the now” kind of guy. And on the show today, you're going to hear how powerful it can be to be more present, and how detrimental it can be to try and plan your life. And I'm going to say it hit home because that's something I try and do all the time as plan my life. And I'm not so much of a “go with the flow” person. So I found it extremely beneficial. And then, of course, you're gonna hear all the stories of how he's been wildly successful just going with the flow. So please enjoy.

T.J. Patrick
Today we're talking to my dad, T.J. Patrick. I just thought it'd be fascinating to sit down and kind of “grill” my dad. Does anyone really sit down and grill their dad about deep subjects and really dive into their psyche and ask questions? Think about the questions that you've never asked before because you just take them for granted because it's your dad? Well, I did. So we talked about all kinds of things and talked about childhood. He told me the true story of how we started racing, which is different than mine. I'm super bummed about it. But hey, truth is truth. We had fun and it was nice to hear stories that even I've never heard before. So please enjoy.

Marcus Samuelsson
Marcus Samuelsson is a fantastic chef based in New York City. Marcus was born in Ethiopia and grew-up in Sweden. So he is so inspiring from a cultural perspective. He can speak many languages, and he can understand many more. He is a very diverse guy. And we talked a lot about the challenges of that. We talked about how it also helps you grow. We talked about traveling and getting to different parts of the world and how we're more alike than we are different. And then we talked about giving back to the community. And he's doing some really cool things around getting back to the community and local neighborhood and supporting each other. And I hope you find it inspiring because I did.

Alex Rodriguez
The guest today is Alex Rodriguez or A-Rod, if you'd like to call him that. He is quite the businessman now. And, of course, still the baseball legend. But something tells me people are going to remember him for his business sense and his successes off the field. And so we talked a lot about business. We talked about how A-Rod Corp started in 2003, and we talked about the trajectory of that and what he's done and where it's going. And we also talked about some of the transitional times in his life that weren't so easy. I hope you like it
