Are There Spiritual Gifts That Are Not Listed In Scripture?There are three lists of spiritual gifts most people point to when studying the Gifts of The Spirit. List one is found in Romans 12, List two can be found in 1 Corinthians 12, and list three can be found in Ephesians 4. But why are they different lists? Why does Paul leave out healing, tongues, and administration in Ephesians 4? or why isn't there a mention of evangelism in 1 Corinthians 12? It appears that each of these lists was not meant to be exhaustive. If that is true, then might there be other Spirit-empowered gifts that Christ has given his church, gifts unmentioned in scripture? Aimee Semple McPherson & The Complexities of Christian CelebritiesStarting off the week by talking about the life and teachings of Aimee Semple McPherson. Aimee was a Canadian Pentecostal evangelist and media celebrity in the 1920s and 1930s, famous for founding the Foursquare Church. McPherson pioneered the use of broadcast mass media, she used radio, popular entertainment techniques, and stage theatrics, in her weekly sermons that popularized her name in an unprecedented way. Our good buddy Anthony Scoma is joining us for the discussion. Anthony has been on the show twice before once covering the History of the Assemblies of God and the history of race in the AG.Anthony is a 4th generation member of the Assemblies of God on both sides of his family. He graduated from UT with a degree in history, he received a Master of Divinity from SAGU, then went to Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary for a master's in historical Theology. In Anthony’s words, he has been tried by Presbyterians, Pentecostals, and Pagans 🤣🤣🤣. As you can imagine, someone with such a diverse education is absolutely fascinating to talk to.
