Daniel, Shahbaz, and Anthony review Jafar Panahi's IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT at TIFF 50 starring Vahid Mobasseri, Ebrahim Azizi, Madjid Panahi, Maryam Afshari, Hadis Pakbaten, and Mohamad Ali Elyasmehr. Like many of Jafar Panahi’s films, Palme d’Or winner It Was Just An Accident begins in a car. On the way home, a driver hits a dog, killing it and wrecking his engine. Seeking help, he stumbles into a warehouse where a worker believes he’s found the torturer who once ruined his life. Unsure if Eghbal is truly guilty, Vahid rallies other survivors to confront him, forcing the group to face a grave ethical dilemma.
