Crypto Voices: Episode 20
Show support appreciated: 35iDYDYqRdN2x6KGcpdV2W1Hy3AjGje9oL
Matthew & Fernando interview Stephen King on location in New York.
Stephen is a tenured real estate professional and developer, formerly of King Realty Group in New Jersey. He is the founder of the Princeton Ethereum Meetup.
We discuss his most recent venture, Rex MLS. MLS stands for Multiple Listing Service, a generic term for a networked pool of property sales info in the real estate industry, among brokers, typically available in a proprietary and expensive fashion. It is a highly consolidated industry with a few dominant companies.
We discuss his vision for Rex, and how he and his partners plan to open up property data among brokers, using the Ethereum blockchain and REX tokens. Their rollout plans today are focused in the US in Chicago, in the commercial (office) sector, though they envision real estate brokers adopting their services across the world, in all property sectors. We discuss some of the benefits and challenges of putting real estate on the blockchain, the role of property title on the blockchain, geo-spatial coordinates of premises, and also their recent ICO.
