Combining Growth and Momentum Investing with O'Neil Global's Randy Watts and WisdomTree's Jeremy Schwartz
Many investors tend to think growth and momentum investing are highly aligned with each other. But as we have seen recently, with many momentum funds making an aggressive move into value, they also can be very different. In this episode, we talk to Randy Watts, Chief Investment Officer at O'Neil Global Advisors and Jeremy Schwartz, Global Head of Research at WisdomTree about an interesting strategy they have created to combine the two together.
We discuss the challenges of growth investing, the best ways to measure growth, and how to identify it in its early stages. And on the momentum side, we cover combining momentum with mean reversion, the importance of the right rebalancing time frame, and the benefits of momentum consistency.
Since we are both big fans of Jeremy's economic discussions with Jeremy Siegel on the Behind the Markets podcast, we also couldn't resist asking a couple of questions about the outlook for the economy and inflation.
We hope you enjoy the discussion.

The Return of Tobias Carlisle
This week we bring back our first repeat guest on the podcast. And we can't think of a better person to have back than our good friend Tobias Carlisle. When Toby originally came on the podcast, we were in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis, the market was down, and value stocks were struggling badly. Since then, the situation has substantially improved both in the economy and in the stock market. We talk to Toby about the resurgence in value stocks and their outlook going forward, the changes in the market in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis and what he has learned in his 2+ years managing a value ETF, among many other topics.
We hope you enjoy the discussion.

The Facts About Factor Timing
Factor timing seems so sensible on the surface. The idea of adding exposure to out of favor factors appeals to investors' desires to buy low and sell high. But the reality is much more complicated than that. In this episode, we look at what the academic research shows about factor timing and some different approaches to building investment strategies that time factors.
We hope you enjoy the discussion.

The Truth About Dividend Investing
Investors love dividends. They like them for their potential to beat the market. They like them for the income they provide. Some even like them because of their perceived safety. But the reality of all of those things is a little bit different than the common perception. When you look at each of the benefits that buying high yield stocks provides, you will typically find that there is a better way to accomplish that same thing using an alternative approach.
In this episode, we look at the realities of investing in dividend paying stocks and how that differs from what many investors believe.
We hope you enjoy the discussion.

The Biggest Lessons From Our First 100 Episodes
When we started our podcast in 2019, we were hoping we could create something that would be educational and informative for people who follow our content. But one of the biggest surprises for us is how much we have learned ourselves.
We have been fortunate to interview some of the smartest investors we know, and each interview has taught us something new and expanded our understanding of some complex and interesting concepts. To celebrate our 100th episode, we have pulled together our favorite clips from the 28 interviews we have done so far to extract the lessons from them.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to listen to us through our first 100 episodes. We look forward to the next 100.

Rob Arnott on Inflation, Bubbles and the Future of Value Investing
Although the word unprecedented tends to be overused, we are seeing many things in the market currently that many of us haven't seen before. Fiscal stimulus has increased to levels that truly are unprecedented, inflation may become an issue for the first time in a long time, and many investors are arguing the fundamentals don't matter anymore
This week, we are fortunate to be joined by Research Affiliates founder Rob Arnott to help us work through all of it. We discuss the implications of government stimulus, how to identify bubbles in advance and the future of value investing, among many other topics.
We hope you enjoy the discussion.
