The Kurds Are Being Betrayed
On September 25, Iraqi Kurdistan held a referendum regarding independence from Iraq. The overwhelmingly positive decision to push for independence was met on October 16 by a combination of Iraqi military forces and the PMU (an Iranian-backed militia). These forces invaded Iraqi Kurdistan, retook the disputed oilfield of Kirkuk, looted homes, and punished Sunni Muslims as they moved in with tanks and howitzers. In this podcast, Stephen describes the U.S. abandonment of the Kurds as “absolutely stunning.” Find out why it’s so important that the U.S. government and press should begin paying attention to the situation.

Can you guess who he’s talking about and what the man might do? Don’t miss this exciting podcast, in which Stephen discusses the technological possibilities of a not-too-distant future. (Also, find out why third world countries sometimes have far better technologies than we do in our own “first world” nations!)

Innovations of Our Time, Part 1
There are two stories unfolding in the world: the progress of governments and the progress of private firms and individuals. The U.S. education system tends to focus on the former. In this podcast, Stephen suggests that the technological innovations of private firms don’t get adequate representation in the U.S. education system. Take his quiz, and then see if you can guess how Stephen expects a new epoch to begin in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

My Question About Guns
Like many of his friends, Stephen hunts, owns guns, uses guns, and has a concealed carry permit. While he’s not an NRA member, he does believe in responsible gun ownership. In this podcast, Stephen presents some questions for more knowledgeable gun-owners… Is there a compelling reason (other than being a collector) for a person to own an automatic assault weapon? What is the loss to the average citizen, and is it any violation of the 2nd Amendment, for us to add more restrictions to automatic assault weapons? Finally, Stephen urges gun-advocates, “Fix the problem from within, or it’s going to get fixed for you from the outside.”

The Wrong Side of History
On September 25, the Kurds of Iraqi Kurdistan will have a referendum on whether Iraqi Kurdistan needs to break from the rest of Iraq. Stephen believes it will pass with 80 to 90% support. Yet the United States is doing everything it can to fight this independence movement. Why is the U.S. opposing a people group 35 million strong? A group that’s a century overdue for independence, loyal allies to the United States, pro-democratic, pro-Israel, and pro-Western? In this fiery podcast, Stephen addresses the failures of the current and former U.S. administrations with regards to the Kurds, and shares his policy recommendations.

Prophetic Distance
There is a long tradition of religion influencing politics in American history. It is largely to be welcomed. Yet in the recent presidential election, some religious leaders were so full-throated in endorsing Donald Trump that they nearly became part of his PR staff. There is a better, more noble, even holier way to go. In this podcast, Stephen describes the virtues of maintaining prophetic distance as an antidote to the excesses of the recent U.S. presidential election.

The Shadow Cabinet
When Republicans took the House, the Senate and the White House in the recent presidential election, they should have been ready to lead on the first day in office. Instead, infighting and lack of preparation led to embarrassing defeats. Hoping for a better day, Stephen recommends the British Shadow Cabinet approach for parties out of power and for those intending to run for office. This podcast is a must for aspiring politicians, in particular.

Our Crises: Don’t Freakout!
The news in our day might lead us to conclude we are living in the worst of all possible times and, for some of us, in the worst of all possible countries—the United States. It isn’t true. As Stephen explains, the current rise of white supremacist thinking is the death rattle of a lie believed mainly by young white misfits. Don’t freakout! Remember who we are, where we are heading, and who you are meant to be. Stephen brings it all together in this searing, encouraging podcast.
