How to Create an Amazing Life (Feat. Justin Sylvester)

Justin Sylvester is the co-host of E! Network's Daily Pop and The Scoop, a weekly segment on The Today Show. He got his debut as Kyle Richards, "Lady Sitter," on Bravo's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. How did he create the magnificent and rewarding life that he always envisioned? Early on, Justin realized that his life would be much more fulfilling if he lived in a place where he could be seen, heard, and understood. He was greatly inspired by the increasingly growing number of successful gay men in media and he wanted to thrive among them. Despite knowing who he was from a young age, Justin hid his sexuality during high school because he didn't feel accepted by his peers. Around this same time, OUT100 magazine would prove to be a great source of inspiration for him. In this episode of Motivational Mondays, Justin shares his journey from small-town Louisiana to thriving in the media.   LEARN MORE: >> Check out Justin’s feature in OUT100 {out.com/print/2021/11/01/meet-queer-titans-media-who-made-years-out100} >> Watch Justin on Daily Pop and The Today Show {eonline.com/shows/daily_pop} {today.com} >> Follow Justin on Instagram and TikTok {@justinasylvester} {@justinsylvestertv}   NSLS MEMBERS ONLY: Listen to the bonus episode to learn why Justin doesn’t mind being a social climber and why he appreciates people who are transparent with their intentions. {https://thens.ls/3b7zxP8}   Photo credit: Brandon Sosa/E! Seeing a World Beyond Your Expectations (Feat. Dena McMillon-Billups)

Dena McMillon-Billups is passionate about inspiring women to learn and find their worth. She strives to educate and help them rise above adversity. Nowhere is Dena's work more needed than in marginalized communities; therefore, she focuses much of her attention there, helping people find their voice.  In her book, Naked: Stripping to the Core in 40 Days, Dena encourages women to to move beyond false self-projection, tell their own stories, and not let others write their narratives. Dena notes that it’s important to invest in yourself. She invested in training so she could understand the concepts that are impactful in people’s lives. Motivational Minutes with May Lee

May Lee describes white supremacy as a plague that has been in the US for centuries. People need to speak up, push back, and stop pretending these events never happened. That’s how we build empathy and solidarity with communities outside of our own. Asian women are constantly stereotyped as meek, timid, and submissive, but why is this perception so pervasive? On this week's Motivational Mondays, May Lee shares why she created the "Evolutions of Asian Americans in the Media" course to explain the origin of these narratives and how to change them. Inspiring Hope through Mentorship (Feat. Janet T. Phan)

Janet T. Phan is a Senior Technical Project Manager at Amazon and the founder of Thriving Elements, an organization that mentors underrepresented girls in STEM. Janet founded Thriving Elements to help instill confidence in young girls and give them opportunities to thrive. In this episode of Motivational Mondays, she reflects back and shares that where she is now is because of the mentors in her life.
