2022 Astrology Forecast for the Year Ahead
In episode 332 we present our annual year ahead astrology forecast for 2022, where we look at the major astrological alignments coming up over the next 12 months and make some predictions, with astrologers Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, and Leisa Schaim.
We spend the first 40 minutes of this episode giving an overview of some of the major transits in 2022, including the ongoing Saturn-Uranus square, Jupiter's transit through Pisces and Aries, the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, Venus retrograde in Capricorn, Mars retrograde in Gemini, the Pluto return of the United States, and eclipses in Taurus and Scorpio.
After that initial overview we then go into a more detailed breakdown of the next twelve months, breaking it up into four quarters, and spending about 40 minutes on each quarter of the year.
This episode is available in both audio and video versions below.

Astrology, Technology, and the Future, with Adam Sommer
Astrologer Adam Sommer joins the podcast to talk about Pluto, mythology, bitcoin, the metaverse, and their relationship to astrology.
Adam was visiting Colorado in November, and we decided to get together and record a conversation about a bunch of different astrological topics we had been thinking about lately.
The result was a pretty sweeping discussion about a variety of different topics, although the main one that we kept coming back to is astrology and technology.
This is a more casual and less focused episode than usual, but we had a lot of fun and discussed a number of interesting topics.
Adam is the host of the Exploring Astrology Podcast, which you can find on his website:

Minor Aspects in Astrology, with Rick Levine
In episode 328 astrologer Rick Levine joins the show to talk about minor aspects in astrology, and whether they should be regarded as "minor".
Minor aspects are generally categorized as any aspects besides the five classical "major" aspects that were originally introduced in western astrology around the 1st century BCE, which are the conjunction, opposition, trine, square, and sextile.
The minor aspects include the semi-sextile, quincunx, semi-square, sesqui-square, quintile, bi-quintile, septile, novile, and others.
Several of the minor aspects used today were first introduced by the German astronomer and astrologer Johannes Kepler in the 17th century CE, although their adoption in the astrological community has been uneven, with some astrologers using them and others not.
During the course of the episode we discuss the history of minor aspects and some of the debates surrounding them, and then later look at some charts where Rick demonstrates how he uses minor aspects in practice.

Neptune in Astrology: Meaning and Significations
In episode 326 astrologer Laura Nalbandian joins the show to talk about the meaning of the planet Neptune in astrology, and what it signifies in a birth chart.
In astrology Neptune is generally said to signify illusions, mysticism, escapism, spiritualism, confusion, romanticism, the blurring of boundaries, extreme sensitivity, compassion, and transcendent experiences.
Neptune is one of the more recently discovered outer planets, having only been discovered in 1846, although astrologers have figured out its meanings pretty well after nearly two centuries of working with it.
This is part of a series of episodes where we do a deep-dive into the meanings of each of the planets in astrology, by reading some excerpts from different astrologers to see how they have talked about the planet in the past, and then using that as a jumping off point for discussion.
Laura is organizing two astrology conferences happening in Seattle and Denver in May and August of 2022, and you can find out more information here:

November Astrology Forecast 2021: Mars Square Saturn + Taurus Eclipse
In episode 325 we look at the astrological forecast for November 2021, which features Mars squaring Saturn and opposing Uranus, as well as a lunar eclipse in Taurus, with astrologers Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, and special guest co-host Leisa Schaim.
November is one of the most tense months of this year, due to the tight T-square between Mars, Saturn, and Uranus, as well as the first of a series of eclipses in Taurus going exact around the same time, all around the middle of November.
In the first part of the episode we review how the astrology of October went, focusing in particular on some stories connected with the Mercury retrograde square Pluto, and then after that do a deep dive on the astrology of November.
This episode is available in both audio and video versions below.

The Life and Work of Astrologer Helena Avelar
In episode 324 astrologer Luís Ribeiro joins me to talk about the life and work of his partner Helena Avelar, who passed away earlier this year.
Helena was a respected practitioner and teacher of traditional astrology from Portugal, and had influenced many astrologers through works she co-authored with Luís, such as their 2010 book On the Heavenly Spheres: A Treatise on Traditional Astrology.
She was also a scholar of the history of astrology, and obtained PhD from the Warburg Institute in 2018, with a thesis titled "The Making of an Astrologer in Fifteenth-century France. The Notebooks of S. Belle: Lisbon, MS 1711 and Paris, NAL 398."
Her PhD dissertation was recently published by the academic publisher Brill, and the book came out just a few months after she died, under the title An Astrologer at Work in Late Medieval France The Notebooks of S. Belle.
In the first half of this podcast episode we focus on giving a biographical overview of Helena's life and talking about her work and accomplishments, while in the second half we talk about her new book.
This episode is available in both audio and video versions below.

Aspects in Astrology: The Five Major Configurations
In episode 323 astrologers Chris Brennan and Claire Moon discuss the five major aspects in astrology, and explain what they mean in a birth chart.
Aspects are geometrical configurations which denote different types of relationships between planets, and they are the primary means through which planets interact with each other in a chart.
The five major aspects, also sometimes known as the Ptolemaic aspects, are the conjunction, opposition, trine, square, and sextile.
During the course of the episode we give an introduction to the topic of aspects and then get into what each of the them mean symbolically.
