In Episode 137 I sit down once again with Joe Kent for round two. Kent and I served briefly together in 2nd Ranger Battalion before he went on to attend SFAS and become a Green Beret. Kent and his wife Shannon were both part of the Special Operations Community when she was tragically killed during an operation in Syria. With Kent suddenly becoming a single father to his 1 and 3-year-old sons, he decided he needed to put the military lifestyle behind him and chase a new endeavor. Kent has decided the best way he can continue to serve his nation is by running for Congress and bringing real-life experience, integrity, and honor back into American Politics. In Episode 134 I sit down with Jay Morrison (JayMo). Jay’s life has been an intense journey starting with an extremely traumatic childhood, followed by a military career that took him to the pinnacle of special operations inside of Force Recon, and finally as a firefighter, which is still his current profession. Jay’s path exposed him to countless traumatic incidents which we really delve into. After years of compounding traumatic experiences, Jay found himself in that dark place that veterans often do. He started to struggle with depressive thoughts and suicidal ideations and sought a variety of treatments. Episode 132 is a powerful episode where I sit down with retiring Special Forces Officer Bryan Ray. Bryan had a long military career in the Army that we really delve into and look at both the good aspects of soldiering, as well as the dark side that often doesn’t get talked about! Bryan had a successful career where his last duty station found him at Ft Carson, CO, where he took part in running the mountain warfare school. We talk in depth about how his service has led to some emotional struggles and what the journey to healing looks like!
