Watch Before You Eat
A recent social media influencer video about the sugar content of Bournvita caused an uproar. Influencer Revant Himatsingka withdrew the video after receiving a legal notice from the firm that owned the health drink brand, which rejected claims that it had a high sugar content. Around 12 million people had watched the video, which several well-known people also shared on social media. This raised the issues of health and, more crucially, what MNCs are doing to maintain consumer faith in their brands. Was this the case always? Exist any rules for the current brand communication situation? In order to address everything, host Kiran Somvanshi speaks to: Dr. Arun Gupta, a paediatrician and representative of NAPI, seeks to understand the truth about numerous companies that make claims to be "healthy." Revant Himatsingka, a health coach and content creator known as "FoodPharmer," discusses how he decoded various so called ‘nutritious’ brands and what are his findings. Ratna Bhushan, ET’s Senior Editor and TMB Co-Host, describes how Mondelez India and other MNCs circumvent the system to their advantage.
