The One Where Pip Brown & I Talk About Spiritual Awakenings, Man

Send us a textIn this week's episode, former guest, Pip Brown, is back on the podcast for a conversation about spiritual awakenings, among many other things! Pip owns her own dog walking business on the Isle of Wight, and has a podcast called One Single Woman. She is also happily single and childfree, a listener to the podcast, and a member of my Thrive Solo membership!Pip is passionate about letting other single women know that it is ok to be alone, and has a social media journal on Instagram, @onesinglewoman, where she aims to empower other women like herself to embrace their single, childfree lives.Topics that we cover are:how both of us started on a path of ‘spiritual awakening’;what having a spiritual awakening means to me;shedding the layers that society has put upon us, and how uncomfortable that can be;how Pip’s ‘awakening’ was very much connected to her being single;how confused she was about why she didn’t want to settle down;how Pip became obsessed with the world of the childfree;how she felt as though she’d been asleep her whole life;why she decided to start a podcast and how terrifying it was to begin with;the bizarre emotions that Pip and I have both felt during the course of our journeys;social conditioning, the prescribed path, and how impactful it is;how our thoughts are profoundly impacting our lives;being the creators of our own lives;the self-limiting beliefs that society puts upon us without us realising;how we are so much more capable than we think we are;how Pip wasted so much time feeling like she didn’t fit in;the impact the overpopulation is having on our planet;the idea that we all have a 'calling';the huge importance of being aware of our thoughts, as well as the frequency we’re putting out;letting go of victimhood, and taking responsibility of our lives;how I had to set aside my ego in order to start my podcast;learning to get comfortable being uncomfortable;how our society is far too concerned with image, and things that aren’t important;the importance of accepting ourselves exactly as we are.Check out Pip's Podcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/one-single-woman/id1719869295Follow Pip on Instagram:@onesinglewoman Support the showPre-Order my book, SHINY HAPPY SINGLES (UK) / THRIVE SOLO (US & Canada) at: https://www.lucymeggeson.com/book Download my FREE PDF 'The Top 10 Answers To The Most Irritating Questions That Single People Get Asked On The Regular...& How To (Devilishly) Respond'? Minisode Ep.115 - Love As A Verb

Send us a textOn today's minisode, I'm talking about love as a verb, rather than a noun.As single women, it's all too easy to passively wait for that certain someone to come along and give us love. It's like we're always waiting to receive it.But what if we started to think of love as a verb? What if we started to think of love as an action that we take, and as something that we are?  What if we placed our focus on actively putting love out into the world, instead of thinking that it needs to come to us via a romantic partner, over and above any other form of love?Press 'Play' and let me know what you think! Thursday Thoughts - Not Giving A Sh*t What Other People Think

Send us a textOn today's Thursday Thoughts, Polly and I are talking about not giving a fu*k what other people think.Whether it's people we know, or random strangers on the internet, we can all relate to the fear and anxiety around other people's opinions. We talk about the different ways of thinking that can lessen our worries, as well as how learning how to laugh at ourselves can alleviate these fears.Polly and I share some embarrassing experiences of our own that speak to this topic, and we also chat about how we've both learnt to care less about what other people think in recent years. But...it's still a work in progress!Ultimately, worrying about the opinions of others is not only futile, but is also a total waste of our energy. And besides...none of us will be here in 100 years, so what are we actually worrying for?!We hope you'll find something useful in here.Love,Polly & Lucy x Support the showPre-Order my book, SHINY HAPPY SINGLES (UK) / THRIVE SOLO (US & Canada) at: https://www.lucymeggeson.com/book Download my FREE PDF 'The Top 10 Answers To The Most Irritating Questions That Single People Get Asked On The Regular...& How To (Devilishly) Respond'? Minisode Ep.114 - You're Allowed To Quit

Send us a textOn today's minisode, I'm talking about quitting. We're often lead to believe that quitting something means we've 'failed', and that it's mainly a bad thing to quit. But I don't believe this to be the case.We have to know when quitting is actually a win, and we need to muster the courage to do it - when we know in our hearts it's right for us - despite disappointing others.Press 'Play' and let me know what you think! The One Where I Talk To Author, Marianne Power - Part 2

Send us a textIn this week’s episode, the fabulous Marianne Power is back for Part 2 of our conversation!Marianne is a freelance journalist and author who lives in London. Her first book, ‘Help Me! How Self-Help Has Not Changed My Life’, an international bestseller, is an irresistibly funny and incredibly moving book about a wild and ultimately redemptive journey that will resonate with anyone who’s ever dreamed of finding happiness. Her second book which comes out in August but is available for pre-order right now, is called ‘Love Me! One Woman’s Search For A Different Happy Ever After’. Honest, intimate and inspiring, Love Me! is about the freedom to envision the life you want, and finding the courage to choose it.Marianne is single and childfree, but surrounded by love in the form of friends and lovers. Topics that Marianne & I cover are:how Marianne’s Irish catholic upbringing meant that boys were alien to her;the AIDS adverts from the 80s, and their impact on Marianne;how she always had insecurities around sex;the first tantra retreat that Marianne was invited to attend, and how it went;how tantra is actually a spiritual practice that includes physical connections and relationships;how the first retreat was utterly petrifying, but ultimately a beautiful experience;when Marianne exclaimed “I want to practice touching a penis!”, and how she practised on her friend;how we all have areas of shame around sex;why there’s no such thing as being good or bad at sex;how we would all benefit from voicing our insecurities around sex;how Marianne is now more relaxed around sex, and has let go of the shame she once felt;why being honest about the things we’re ashamed or embarrassed about can be so freeing;the 80 year old woman who’d never had sex, and who attended the tantra retreat;how Marianne wants to celebrate and lift up both single women, and women in relationships;why we should try and think about love as being something we give, rather than something we get.Follow Marianne on Instagram:@marianne_power_writerBuy the book on Amazon:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Love-Me-womans-search-happy/dp/1529057884  Support the showPre-Order my book, SHINY HAPPY SINGLES (UK) / THRIVE SOLO (US & Canada) at: https://www.lucymeggeson.com/book Download my FREE PDF 'The Top 10 Answers To The Most Irritating Questions That Single People Get Asked On The Regular...& How To (Devilishly) Respond'?
