Welcome to the first ever episode of the Happy Accidents podcast. Normally, each podcast episode will be sharing a true story of success (by a person, product, or business) that can be traced back to a Happy Accident in some way shape or form. Whether it's an unintended discovery, an accidental invention, a chance encounter, fluke timing, or whatever. Post-It Notes, The Slinky, PlayDoh, The Microwave and many other products have Happy Accidents origin story Spanx, Virgin Airlines, and the Diners Club card were all invented out of frustration after bad experiences Elton John and Bernie Taupin (a legendary songwriting duo) met by chance after responding to the same newspaper ads Mick Jagger and Keith Richards met serendipitously after they bumped into each other at a train station and began chatting about music These and many other stories just like them will be shared in the podcast. Along with some fun facts, and the lessons we can all learn from them But in this episode, I'm first taking you on the journey that led to the podcast.
