Kirsten was super close to her dad growing up. When she was in college his sex addiction was exposed and her whole world blew up. Kirsten got the help she needed after the trauma of her dad’s betrayal had a head on collision with the stress and pain of years of over-functioning and neglecting her true needs. It all started with a dimestore romance novel given to her at the tender age of 13. Intrigued and curious, yet filled with shame at her desire to read more “Anna” unpacks her struggle with erotica (porn in written form). When her youth group’s sex talk for the girls portrayed sexual struggle as just a guys’ issues Anna’s belief that she was dirty, shameful, and better keep her mouth shut about this battle was cemented. But there’s hope….Anna sheds light on some of the deep spiritual work she has done to break the chains! These behaviors were both shaped and predicted by the parts of our story that remain unaddressed. The implication is that if you want to find freedom, you need to identify the unique reasons that bring you to it in the first place. Instead of trying to escape shame, let's look right at it and let it teach us. Jen & Brenda are both beautiful, smart, successful professionals whose worlds turned upside down when they discovered sexual betrayal in their marriages.
