Toby Green and Thomas Fazi: Covid and the global war on the poor: a critique from the left
Historian Toby Green and journalist Thomas Fazi join The Grayzone's Max Blumenthal to discuss their new book, "Covid and the global war on the poor: a critique from the left," which surveys the devastating impact of lockdowns and school closures on the planet's most vulnerable populations, from sub-Saharan Africa to major US and European metropolitan areas. Green and Fazi offer a searing analysis of the organized Western left's uncritical support for policies that enriched Big Tech and the pharmaceutical industry at the expense of the global poor.
Fazi also discusses his recent participation in the Unherd Debates on the Ukraine proxy war, where he argued alongside Peter Hitches against continued Western military aid for Kiev.

Heinrich Bucker: Prosecuted for condemning aid to Ukrainian Nazis
Heinrich Bücker, founder of Berlin's COOP Antiwar Cafe, about his prosecution at the hands of the German state for publicly denouncing Germany's military aid to a Ukrainian government that reveres World War II-era Nazi collaborators and incorporates neo-Nazi battalions into its military.
Bücker also discusses that state of the German antiwar movement as it gathers momentum following mass protests after the February 24 first anniversary of the Ukraine proxy war.

Exclusive Grayzone report on East Palestine Ohio and Biden's trip to Ukraine
Summary:
Part 1: While Biden was too busy tending to Zelensky to visit Ohio, journalist Jeremy Loffredo took a series of trips to East Palestine to report on the chemical disaster and its impact on the towns residents for The Grayzone. Jeremys exclusive report contains extensive interviews with local residents and exposes of the private police and corporate front groups sent in to East Palestine to play the role of environmental monitors.
Part 2: Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate demonstrate that Biden's tour of Ukraine was just a theatrical sham, down to the air raid sirens that blared as Biden first appeared with Zelensky. Take a listen.
Part 3: While Biden was overseas, two of his top foreign policy advisors, NSC director Jake Sullivan and assistant secretary of state Samantha Power, attempted to answer rising concerns by Americans about the escalation of the Ukraine proxy war. They did so at a CNN-sponsored so called town hall that was sealed off from any antiwar elements that might have prevented a forceful challenge. Max discussed with Aaron the history of these CNN town halls and we presented another exchange between a top Biden ally and an actual antiwar protester.

Jimmy Dore: Rant Against the War Machine
Rage Against the War Machine rally this Sunday, February 19, in Washington DC at 1230 PM at the Lincoln Memorial. https://rageagainstwar.com/
First, Max Blumenthal, comedian Jimmy Dore, and Aaron Mate discuss the controversies surrounding Rage Against the War Machine and to respond to the sectarian elements manufacturing them. This February 19, people from around the country from a range of political backgrounds will gather at 1230 PM at Washington DCs Lincoln Memorial to rage against the war machine. There, they will hear from speakers including Tulsi Gabbard, Jimmy Dore, Dennis Kucinich, Jill Stein, Roger Waters, Anya Parampil, Ron Paul, Judge Andrew Napolitano and Max Blumenthal, among many others.
Because the rally is co-sponsored by the left-wing Peoples Party and the Libertarian Party, certain leftist elements which have traditionally asserted leadership over the antiwar movement and left it in a pathetic, moribund state, have attacked Rage Against the War Machine and attempted to depress turnout. Medea Benjamin, one of the most prominent antiwar personalities in the US, was forced to withdraw from speaking at the rally after staffers at her Code Pink organization declared opposition to one speakers views on gender ideology. Thats right, if every single speaker at an antiwar rally does not hold the correct view on each of the latest boutique social issues, then the rally is invalid. Does that sound like a workable formula for an effective antiwar movement in the United States?
In the second half, Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate discuss the deadly impact of the US governments so-called Caesar Sanctions Act on average Syrians. An earthquake has killed tens of thousands in Turkey and Syria, and as Americans, we are unable to send aid to most Syrians. Why? Because of the sadistic US sanctions imposed on the country amidst a multi-billion dollar campaign to flood the country with weapons and jihadist death squads in a ruthless bid for regime change.

Jeremy Loffredo: US mining Africa to Death
Jeremy Loffredo discusses his recent article in The Grayzone (1/23/23), US Africa Leaders Summit promises more exploitation for Africa, record profits for US mining firms. Recent deals between US Secretary of State Tony Blinken and African heads of state promise eye-popping profits for US mining multinationals and fewer protections for African laborers “toiling in subhuman conditions” to drive the digital revolution.

Grayzone Radio 11: The Little Red Chinese Balloon
Grayzone Radio 11: The Little Red Chinese Balloon
Spy balloon freakout, Ilhan the Imperialist and the threat of NATO boots in Ukraine
Summary:
The first part is about the recent media freakout over a balloon that the Pentagon labeled "a Chinese spy balloon." Was the balloon just an innocent weather balloon that got lost on its way to a thunderstorm? Was it a literal test balloon - something deployed by the Chinese military to appraise Americas reaction to a looming threat? Or was it a spying device collecting detailed imagery of sensitive US military sites? Max Blumenthal and Aaron Mate discuss how literal hot air is fueling a new cold war. Keep in mind our conversation took place two days before a US F-22 aircraft took out the slow moving Chinese balloon with a single sidewinder missile, a feat of gallantry unmatched in modern military history.
The next part covers the furor over Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy stripping Rep. Ilhan Omar of her assignment on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. McCarthys motives were twisted for sure - he was canceling Omar for her speech, and specifically for criticizing the Israel lobby that funds his campaigns and those of his allies. But Omars allies in the progressive squad claimed she was removed simply because she was a woman of color. Was that really the case? And is Ilhan Omar actually advancing the antiwar cause, or is she, in fact, an insidious enabler of imperialism in Somalia, the country of her birth, as well as Ethiopia? This discussion might make you think twice about Ilhan and the squad.
The third part is about Ukraine, where British military and political leadership is beginning to call for boots on the ground. Thats right, the country that supposedly functions as the poodle of US empire is actually helping drive escalation, and pushing Washington further than it may want to go. Will there be NATO boots on the ground in Ukraine?

Grayzone Radio 10: Tanks for the Memories
Grayzone Radio 10: Tanks for the Memories
US uses Germany to set stage for war with Russia and US encourages remilitarizes of Japan for conflict with China
Summary:
The first half of this episode features a conversation between Max Blumenthal and my colleague, Aaron Mate, about the impending delivery of US and German battle tanks to Ukraine, another step on the path toward direct confrontation between nuclear powers. And then with a look at the German Green Party, which poses as feminist and environmentalist, but which has embraced the most militaristic foreign policy since WW2. And well cover a recent Senate hearing in which assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland - a neoconservative ideologue who has played a central role in driving the Ukraine proxy war - appeared to celebrate the destruction of the German and Russian Nord Stream pipeline project.
In the second half, Max has a discussion with Nagoya, Japan-based scholar and activist Joseph Essertier about the Japanese governments plans to violate the countrys pacifist post-war constitution and double Japans military budget. As with Germany, Japan is being dragged by the US into direct conflict with a much more powerful and populous country in its immediate region - in this case, its China. Essertier and I touched on some of the social factors in the tragic Japanese capitulation to Washingtons demands and the countrys own historical demons.
