023 - How Your Attachment Style is Affecting Your Relationships

How we were parented as children is the single greatest influencer of the attachment style we exhibit in our adult relationships.  Since it's how we were parented that affects our attachment style, having this awareness now as parents ourselves is so valuable.  We can’t intervene in a world we can’t see, right? So just by listening to this episode, you’ll start to have a basic awareness and understanding of your attachment style, which can empower you to begin to heal from the hardships of your childhood, which is going to improve your relationships.  In this episode, we’ll discuss the 4 attachment styles and you’re going to resonate with at least one.  Your attachment style isn’t a diagnosis or a label, but rather it’s about gaining an understanding of the reasons why you do the things you do. In identifying the reasons that you have a particular attachment style, you’ll be able to start to heal some of the traumas that led to that style, so you can become more secure and grow deeper and healthier in your relationships. 022 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - Helping Our Children Discover Their Purpose

Purpose is the single greatest motivator in life. We all want to accomplish things that are meaningful.  We all believe the world needs improving, and deep down we all want to be part of the solution.   However, as parents we can’t force a purpose on our kids!  We can’t create their purpose.  We can’t decide what lights them up or what bores them.  But what we can do is open doors.  We can present them with options. We can create opportunities for them to discover their passions and talents.  In this episode you’ll learn three things we can do to help our children discover their purpose.  Today’s episode is for you if you’re wondering who should take the lead role, and who should take the supporting role in this process.  We’ll also discuss the importance of sharing how we feel fulfilled in our purpose with our children, and the importance of playing offense rather than defense. It’s Independence Day, so it seemed appropriate to have a discussion about raising independent children!  Through the independence we help foster, our kids develop a sense of autonomy that is critical to their development.  Our kids need to be given the opportunity to develop a sense of self and to get to know who they are. 019 - The Communication Formula That Will Transform Your Relationships

Think back to the last argument you had with someone where you felt like you were just trying to express yourself or a need you have. It probably didn’t go so well because unfortunately, we’re programmed to communicate in a way that leads to defensiveness and justification.  Today we’re talking about one of my favorite communication tools - Non-Violent Communication! This formula was created by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg and has the power to transform how you’re communicating in every relationship you have.  I’m going to teach you a new language that simplifies communication to make people feel seen, heard, and valued. In this episode, you’ll learn the 4 steps to Non-Violent Communication, and I’ll share my tips for using it most effectively.  This one’s a game changer, friends!  MOTHERHOOD SHOW NOTES: Non-Violent Communication - Ep. 19 Show Notes 1-ON-1 COACHING: Motherhood Coaching CHECK OUT MY FREE 5-STEP MORNING ROUTINE FOR MOMS: My 5-Step Morning Routine MOTHERHOOD VILLAGE FB COMMUNITY: The Motherhood Village MOTHERHOOD INSTAGRAM: @themotherhood.podcast “I love The Motherhood Podcast!” ← if that sounds like you, please consider rating and reviewing our show!  This helps us support more women, just like you, on their motherhood journey.  Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.”  Then be sure to let me know what you loved most about the episode!-- → Learn more and join Burnout Recovery Blueprint

018 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 4 Ways to Encourage Empathy in Our Kids

Cultivating empathy for others is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children. Empathy develops from self-awareness, so in this episode we talk about 4 ways we can help our kids become aware of the needs of those around them.  And while awareness is a great first step, we also explore how our children can take that awareness further and stand up for those in need. Listen in to hear why it’s so important for us to regularly discuss feelings with our children and to help them self-regulate so they can access empathy (spoiler - they literally can’t think about how others are feeling in the midst of a conflict!).  I also explain the power of noticing and encouraging their empathetic behavior and certain things we can model as parents to teach our kids empathy.  MOTHERHOOD SHOW NOTES: Empathy - Ep. 18 Show Notes 1-ON-1 COACHING: Motherhood Coaching CHECK OUT MY FREE 5-STEP MORNING ROUTINE FOR MOMS: My 5-Step Morning Routine MOTHERHOOD VILLAGE FB COMMUNITY: The Motherhood Village MOTHERHOOD INSTAGRAM: @themotherhood.podcast “I love The Motherhood Podcast!” ← if that sounds like you, please consider rating and reviewing our show!  This helps us support more women, just like you, on their motherhood journey.  Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.”  Then be sure to let me know what you loved most about the episode!-- → Learn more and join Burnout Recovery Blueprint

017 - A Meditation to Embody the Process of Forgiveness

Forgiveness is an inside job!  For forgiveness to truly have power in our lives, it can’t just be words we speak.  If we try to forgive before we’ve allowed our bodies to feel and release the emotions tied to the event, it’s like trying to trick ourselves into thinking that everything’s good and we’re moving on, but our body knows better.  Our nervous system knows better.  And there are no shortcuts! Join us for this guided meditation to experience first-hand what it’s like to truly embody forgiveness.  I believe this process of forgiveness is going to be a power tool in helping you heal and move through blocks you’re experiencing in your life. 016 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 3 Things to Remember When Teaching our Kids About Forgiveness

Forgiveness is such a power move! When we can teach our children that forgiveness is a gift that they give to themselves, we can help them let go of judgment, resentment, and misunderstanding. However, forgiveness is so much more than just saying the words “I forgive you.” In order for forgiveness to be effective, we must teach and allow our children to be able to embody it and feel compassion.   This episode is for you if you’ve ever wondered if you should force your kids to forgive. We’ll discuss why it’s so important that kids forgive only when they’re ready, and I’ll help you navigate how that conversation can sound. We’ll explore how we can teach our kids that forgiveness is not about accepting, agreeing with, or condoning what happened. And finally, we’ll talk about why it’s so important for us to model forgiveness for our children.   MOTHERHOOD SHOW NOTES: Forgiveness - Ep. 16 Show Notes 1-ON-1 COACHING: Motherhood Coaching CHECK OUT MY FREE 5-STEP MORNING ROUTINE FOR MOMS: My 5-Step Morning Routine MOTHERHOOD VILLAGE FB COMMUNITY: The Motherhood Village MOTHERHOOD INSTAGRAM: @themotherhood.podcast “I love The Motherhood Podcast!” ← if that sounds like you, please consider rating and reviewing our show!  This helps us support more women, just like you, on their motherhood journey.  Click here, scroll to the bottom, tap to rate with five stars, and select “Write a Review.”  Then be sure to let me know what you loved most about the episode!-- → Learn more and join Burnout Recovery Blueprint
