054 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 3 Ideas for Raising Kids Who Serve Others
It fires me up to imagine how this world will change as we raise a generation that recognizes the needs of others and steps up to meet those needs. Our kids are incredible – even from a young age we can really empower them to live a life of service. When our kids serve others, it helps them to see and believe that they can make a difference in the lives of others. And I think when they see that, they’re able to embody the belief that they can make a difference in their own lives too. Listen to today’s episode to learn how we can make service a family habit and ways we can let our kids take the lead in serving others. 052 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 4 Tips for Raising Confident Kids
How our children see themselves, is heavily influenced by how we see ourselves. Our confidence (or lack thereof) is contagious! And for our children to thrive and continue to walk in their calling and purpose, they’re going to need a certain level of confidence. We’ve all experienced it, right? How we feel about ourselves has a huge impact on: how we behave, how we think, the risks we’re willing to take, the relationships we have, the careers we pursue, and so many other facets of our lives. In today’s episode, I explain why we need to be intentional about the labels we’re speaking over kids. I also coach on how important it is that we’re doing our own inner work (and where to start), because the insecurities and hang-ups we carry are having an impact on our children. 051 – Pursuing Peace and Finding Joy in Motherhood (Even When It’s Hard) with Jenna Griffith
Real talk – have you ever found yourself in a rough season of motherhood where you deeply loved your kids, but you just didn’t feel like there was much to like in the moment? In today’s episode, Jenna Griffith, host of the top-rated show The Joy Filled Podcast, shares how we can find peace and purpose through both the highs and lows of motherhood. “Motherhood was always my dream job. So it was earth shattering to me when I started feeling those feelings of like, is this it? One thing that I learned is that our calling doesn't change depending on the season we're in. Our calling is to love Jesus and to make him known to the people around us. And so when we're rooted in that eternal purpose, and take our eyes off of right now and put them back on eternity, then the assignments that we have, we can do wholeheartedly unto God. Because that's the thing about life - we have lots of different assignments, and right now our assignment is motherhood.” – Jenna Griffith Three things you’ll learn in this episode: A mindset shift for mom guilt How to invite more joy into our homes How to find peace in the chaos To connect with Jenna, head to: The podcast: The Joy Filled Podcast Instagram: @jennagriffithco @joyfilledpodcast TAKE THE PERSONALITY PATTERN QUIZ - Personality Quiz 1-ON-1 COACHING: From Insight to Outcome - Life Coaching with Michelle CHECK OUT MY FREE 5-STEP MORNING ROUTINE FOR MOMS: My 5-Step Morning Routine MOTHERHOOD VILLAGE FB COMMUNITY: The Motherhood Village MOTHERHOOD INSTAGRAM: @michellegrosser.coach “I love The Motherhood Podcast!” ← if that sounds like you, please consider rating and reviewing our show! 050 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY – 3 Keys to Raising Creative Children
For the longest time, I associated being creative with being artistic. I couldn't draw or sing, so I believed that I wasn't creative. Have you ever felt this way? And then I realized that my kids would never say "I’m not creative." They’re creating all day long. They’re inventing imaginary worlds, they’re painting and drawing on any surface available, they're making up songs and singing – they’re constantly creating. So where along the journey do we lose this creativity? Creativity isn't limited to artistic expression. Innovation is creative. Scientific discovery is creative. Problem-solving is creative. Writing and speaking are creative. The truth is that we were all created to create. In today's episode, you'll learn 3 key ways you can help your children remain aware of the power they hold to create so that creativity becomes a practice and continues to be a lifestyle for them. 049 – How to Break out of Your Personality Pattern and Return to Your True Self
We all tend to go into certain Personality Patterns when we’re feeling overwhelmed or experiencing some sort of stress in our lives. There are 5 Personality Patterns, and whenever we realize that we've gone into a Pattern, our first job is to get ourselves out of the Pattern and back to being present. In today’s episode, I’m going to coach you on how to get out of each Pattern once you notice you’re in it. Because when we’re able to get out of Pattern, we have access to our learning brain, and we can operate as our true and authentic selves. This allows us to interact with our kids, partner, and all the other people in our lives – not from a skewed defensive Pattern – but through a clear lens. 047 - Discover Your Personality Pattern and Understand Why You Do the Things You Do
Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do? Why do you get so angry when your kids aren't listening to you? Why is it so hard to relax when the house is a mess?! Here's what's going on - as a child, whenever an experience overwhelmed our nervous system, we subconsciously built defenses against that overwhelm. Over time, those defenses become a habit, and then they become a pattern. Now as an adult, what we think of as our personality, is often this defense pattern running the show. So interesting, right?! Today I’m coaching on the 5 Personality Patterns - Leaving, Merging, Enduring, Aggressive, & Rigid - and I'm going to explain how each Pattern originates in childhood. I also coach on how each Pattern usually shows up so you can learn which Pattern you tend to go into when you're stressed or overwhelmed. TAKE THE QUIZ HERE: WHAT’S YOUR PERSONALITY PATTERN? 046 - MOTHERHOOD MONDAY - 3 Ways to Help our Kids Grow in Wisdom
Wisdom is the combination of knowledge and experience. And because of that, I often wonder how much wisdom my kids can reasonably be expected to have! But a few days ago, my daughter told me one of the wisest things I've heard, and it got me thinking about the things we can do to raise wise children, even from a young age. In today's episode, you'll learn how we can teach our kids to see the big picture, ask for wisdom, and how encouraging them to grow in their identity will help them grow in their wisdom.
