Ep. 417: Here's the No. 1 Threat That Could Crush the Global Economy

Joe Brusuelas, chief economist at RSM US, talks about the recent inflationary trends and why the Federal Reserve will likely raise short-term rates in the next 60 days.  He also highlights a brand new economic indicator - created by RSM - that is one of the best at predicting the overall health and outlook of the U.S. economy. Joe then highlights the one huge risk that could derail the entire global economy.  In fact, he believes there is a 50/50 chance of this risk coming to fruition over the next 45 days. Lastly, Joe and Frank have a healthy debate on inflation vs. deflation - and which of these risks the Fed should be more concerned about over the next 6 to 12 months.

Ep. 415: Jeff Macke Unplugged

Jeff Macke, former hedge fund manager and market expert, does not hold back in this special 25-minute interview.  He talks about how malls will never be extinct, why brick and mortar's have a big advantage over Amazon, and why retailers should stop wasting money repurchasing their shares.     Jeff also breaks down the Federal Reserve and how this institution has zero transparency.  This makes it incredibly difficult to trade stocks since the opinions coming from the 17 board members are almost always inconsistent.    Finally, Jeff talks about his future plans after being host of Yahoo! Finance.  This includes reinventing the hedge fund industry.  Jeff says he may look to open up his own fund with a much better fee structure and much better returns.  But he's not promising anything-(although it does sound like Jeff is planning to open up a new fund in the near-term).  Jeff is one of the few analysts in the media who speaks his mind.  He doesn't care who he offends and always has conviction in every stock or sector he recommends.    So whether you agree with Jeff or not... you will know exactly where he stands on many issues after listening to this special interview.

Ep. 413: Retail Expert Sees More Pain Ahead

Kristin Bentz, retail expert and founder of The Talented Blonde, talks about the recent crash in retail stocks and what it means for the markets.  She breaks down the latest spending patterns of consumers and highlights which segments will be the winners and losers within the retail sector over the next few months.  Kristin then talks about the huge risks facing mall operators.  This  segment is seeing one of its biggest sales declines since the credit crisis.  And Kristin sees much more pain ahead as department stores - who just reported horrible quarterly results - will have no choice but to close lots of stores over the next few years.    Finally, Kristin recommends her favorite individual stocks that will outperform the markets.   She also shares some interesting stories from her visit to the SALT conference - which is one of the most prestigious investment conferences in the world held in Las Vegas every May.

Ep 411 Amir Adnani Unplugged

Amir Adnani, Founder and Chairman of Brazil Resources, talks about the recent 300% surge in his stock.  He breaks down what's next for the company and how he plans to more than double the company's gold deposits - which now stand at over 11 million ounces.    Amir also discusses Brazil Resources' huge uranium asset.  This asset - which surrounds Areva's super high-grade Maybelle River deposit - could be valued at more than $50 million, or 40% of the market-cap of the company.  Yet, the "Street" is assigning no value to this large high-grade deposit.  Finally, Amir talks about the state of the gold markets.  He sees prices going higher over the mid to longer term.  If he's right, this should be great news for Brazil Resources which has become one of the premier standouts in the huge junior resource sector.
