The goal is to find practices that regenerate the soil and show the world what good alternatives to the currently dominating destructive, animal torturing, climate changing forms of food production look like. In 2018 Ecosia teamed up with Richard Perkins to run the first round. Two applicants received a total of €100,000 investments. The 2019 annual selection round ends on 15th of December.Links discussed in the conversation:Find the show notes and links here:www.investinginregenerativeagriculture.com/2019/09/15/paul-woebkenberg. ----------------------------------------------------------- For feedback, ideas, suggestions please contact us through Twitter @KoenvanSeijen, or get in touch through the website www.investinginregenerativeagriculture.com. 10 min with Sean Kidney, the $100 trillion bond market everyone in regen ag should know about

A short summary of the interview with Sean Kidney, CEO and co-founder of Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) is an international, investor-focused not-for-profit, the only organisation working solely on mobilising the $100 trillion bond market for climate change solutions.Listen to the full interview here www.investinginregenerativeagriculture.com/2019/07/10/sean-kidney. ----------------------------------------------------------Welcome to Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food.Join our Gumroad community, discover the tiers and benefits here: www.gumroad.com/investinginregenag. Other ways to support our work:- Share the podcast - Give a 5-star rating- Or buy us a coffee… or a meal! www.Ko-fi.com/regenerativeagriculture. ----------------------------------------------------------- I had the great pleasure to interview Sean Kidney, chief executive and co-founder of the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI).Main Take aways:- We can't afford a niche market here. We have to be able to engage the mainstream portfolio managers around the world. So these bonds walk and talk like an ordinary bond similar yield similar coupon.- In Europe agriculture is the largest source of greenhouse gas emissions, for example working with the agricultural sector is a vital thing now.- we have to look at the Economic Development of the society around the natural capital assets and how do we make those richer and have a different economic path than destruction of capital assets.- Preservation of the national capital is critically important as well as the increase in sequestration of soils and the regrowth of forests and changing of practices to reduce emissions at farm level.- We need to work on our global ecosystems to make them more resilient by improving their biodiversity and their ability to be able to respond to extreme climatic shocks or weather shocks.- The lending to the green sector will be materially cheaper than lending to non green sectorsFind all show notes and links here:www.investinginregenerativeagriculture.com/2019/07/10/sean-kidney. ----------------------------------------------------------- For feedback, ideas, suggestions please contact us through Twitter @KoenvanSeijen, or get in touch through the website www.investinginregenerativeagriculture.com. 57 Tony Lovell, how the $ 100M SLM fund handled the six driest years on record

A check-in interview with Tony Lovell, co-founder and CEO of SLM Partners an asset manager that acquires and manages rural land on behalf of institutional investors, to scale up regenerative, ecological farming and forestry systems.----------------------------------------------------------Welcome to Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food.Join our Gumroad community, discover the tiers and benefits here: www.gumroad.com/investinginregenag. Other ways to support our work:- Share the podcast - Give a 5-star rating- Or buy us a coffee… or a meal! www.Ko-fi.com/regenerativeagriculture. ----------------------------------------------------------- I interviewed Tony before in October 2016 as the second interview ever on this podcast, and I'm very happy to check in with him again and see how things have developed in the last almost three years.SLM's fund thesis is to double carrying capacity and half the cost of production, be a large scale, low cost producer of high quality grass fed protein. We talk about:the carbon project of SLMhow they handled the six driest years on recordwhat they did during those yearshow to match stocking rates to carrying capacitywhat you do when the rain finally comeshow SLM was going broke slower than anybody elseIt takes time!Tony: Investors in regen ag need to have an overall picture that's at least a 15 year investment horizon. So when they start there in 15 years and they probably need to look at it in year 5, in year 10 and not worry about in the middle.Find the show notes and links here, plus the earlier interview with Tony:www.investinginregenerativeagriculture.com/2019/08/27/tony-lovell-2.----------------------------------------------------------- For feedback, ideas, suggestions please contact us through Twitter @KoenvanSeijen, or get in touch through the website www.investinginregenerativeagriculture.com.
