We all know that most drivers just do enough, they don't usually over-deliver on training the skills they need to succeed.Well I am here to say that this kind of mentality is OK for those who are hobby drivers but if you want to take this sport serious and you want the sport to take you serious then this attitude won't cut it.In this video I want to target one of the areas that drivers are underachieving and being lazy with, it's engineering.Most athletes in other sports spend a lot of time mastering the tools that they need to use, Tennis players know their rackets, Golfers know their clubs, runners know their shoes. They know how to prep them and get the most from them.Race drivers however spend very little time mastering their car, most couldn't set up a car if their life depended on it. If you know that you have been lazy in this area then I want to warn you that your time is running out. If you want to be or remain a pro then you must fully understand how to set cars up and what each main setting does and what they feel like when adjusted.If not then teams will take advantage of you and manufacturers will not see you as valuable. Us humans are really good at beating ourselves up and filling our heads full of negative thoughts, especially when things are not going to plan.In this episode I want to show you how you can start to avoid this, how you can regain control over your thoughts (or manage them) so you can once again become that kid inside. Today we are going to hit the human side of human performance for both racing and for life in general.I have been noticing a growing tendency for people to allow their lack of self belief and fear of failure destroy their lives and their performances.I have just come back from a life coaching session with a client who has so much potential, so many resources, yet is still allowing their mindset to hold them back.I also had a seminar recently and when asking race drivers about the challenges that they are having in racing right now, their challenges seemed different on the surface but once we dug deeper we found that worrying about what others think about them was the real cause for why they were under-performing and worrying.Well in this video I want to hit these subjects and give it to you straight.
