#95 - Charlie Walker: Detained in a Russian Prison
Explorer Charlie Walker spent a month in a Russian prison cell with no idea if he’d be there for days, weeks, months, or years.
What kept him going?
The same mindset that carried him 43,000 miles by bicycle through 60+ countries, across frozen Siberian tundras, and through moments of crushing loneliness that tested him more than any physical challenge ever could.
In this raw conversation, Charlie reveals what he learned about human kindness in the world’s most remote places, the shocking reality of Russian propaganda during the Ukraine invasion, and why the biggest frontier we face is not geographical—it’s our willingness to push beyond comfort and embrace the unknown. From surviving a bite from the world’s deadliest snake to finding unexpected hospitality in Iran, Charlie’s stories challenge everything we think we know about courage, vulnerability, and what it means to truly explore.
ABOUT THE GUEST:
Charlie Walker is a British explorer, author, and adventure travel writer who has cycled over 43,000 miles through more than 60 countries. His journeys have taken him to some of Earth’s most extreme environments—from camping in -50°C Siberian winters to trekking Papua New Guinea’s highlands. Praised by Sir Ranulph Fiennes for his grit, Charlie has spent 15 years seeking out the limits of both the map and the human spirit. His writing focuses on the intersection of adventure, culture, and the unspoken truths that emerge when you stand far outside your comfort zone.

#94 - Steven Curtis Chapman: I Wasn't Gonna Survive This Darkness
Watch on YouTube →
What does it cost to keep singing about hope when your heart is shattered, success feels hollow, and grief follows you onto the biggest stages in the world?
Steven Curtis Chapman, the most awarded artist in Christian music history, five time Grammy winner, and the first contemporary Christian artist inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, joins Tim and Troy Green for a rare and unguarded conversation. This is not a highlight reel. It is the story of self doubt behind success, of nearly walking away from music, of adoption born from grace, and of worship sung in the shadow of unimaginable loss.
Steven reflects on the fleeting highs of acclaim, the quiet weight of family and marriage, and how songs like “Cinderella” emerged from pain rather than polish. Together, they explore faith under pressure, hope forged through suffering, and why the most enduring music often comes from the darkest valleys.
If you have ever questioned whether faith can survive profound loss, or whether calling and family can coexist under unbearable strain, this episode speaks directly to that place.

#93 - This Allen Institute's ALS Discovery Could Change Everything - Special ALS Episode with Dr. Merit Cudkowicz & Dr. Tanya Daigle
Watch on YouTube → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VU65vnqkBmE
When two of the world's leading ALS researchers meet for the first time on a podcast, something remarkable happens. Dr. Merit Cudkowicz - Tim's close friend and arguably the world's foremost ALS expert, returns to Nothing Left Unsaid for her third appearance, this time joined by Dr. Tanya Daigle from the Allen Institute, who's pioneering genetic tools that could transform how we treat neurodegenerative diseases. Together, they reveal a future for ALS research that's closer than most people realize.
This isn't your typical medical conversation. Merit and Tanya speak with unguarded hope about gene therapies that have stopped disease progression in 40% of patients, AI-driven drug discovery that's accelerating at unprecedented rates, and precision targeting tools that could deliver treatments directly to dying motor neurons without invasive brain surgery. They discuss the real bottlenecks between laboratory breakthroughs and patient impact, why most ALS drug trials aren't actually failures, and how the field has evolved from a handful of researchers to a global collaborative effort spanning continents.

#92 - Shaka Senghor: From Prison Cell to MIT Fellow
Watch on YouTube →https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdAQJZzgbPQ
What does it take to transform your life from inside a prison cell? Shaka Senghor spent 19 years in prison, seven in solitary confinement for a murder he committed at 19. Instead of letting it destroy him, he turned his cell into a university, wrote four books, and discovered a purpose that would change everything.
In this raw conversation, Shaka takes us from running away at 14 and being seduced into the drug trade, to the night he pulled the trigger that changed his life forever. He shares what solitary confinement really does to the human mind, the two letters that transformed him (one from his son, another from his victim's godmother offering forgiveness), and the unflinching truth about what's broken in America's criminal justice system. We also discuss his brother's murder in 2021, fatherhood, and the hidden prisons we all carry.
Shaka Senghor is a New York Times bestselling author ("Writing My Wrongs," "How to Be Free"), criminal justice reform advocate, and former fellow at MIT. Since his release in 2010, he's spoken on stages from TED to Oprah's Super Soul Sunday, advised presidents and corporations, and become one of the most powerful voices on redemption and second chances in America.
This conversation challenges everything you think you know about crime, punishment, and whether people can truly change. His message: “Never settle for mediocrity when greatness is available.”

#91 - Henry Dick Thompson Survived The Impossible Mission
Watch on YouTube → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1nNm2rxY-Q
A woman’s voice broke through his encrypted radio, reading his team’s obituaries. Twenty-two men surrounded by 800 enemy soldiers—and somehow Dr. Dick Thompson survived to tell the story.
Code-named “Dynamite,” Dick led recon teams deep behind enemy lines in Vietnam. The North Vietnamese called him “completely nuts,” and they weren’t wrong. He chained seven claymores together, slid 150 feet down a rope with bare hands to save a crew under fire, and once called in cluster bombs on his own position—fifteen landed inside his perimeter, none detonated.
But this conversation isn’t just war stories. It’s what combat taught him about fear, stress, leadership, and faith. Dick explains the psychology of battle, why “stress sweat” smells different, how box breathing saved his life, and why adapt became his team’s defining rule.
Tim and Troy go straight into the hardest questions: making irreversible decisions, coming home to protesters spitting on him, the difference between killing with a knife vs. a gun, and whether surviving fifteen unexploded bomblets is anything but divine intervention.
Dick doesn’t flinch. He talks about the voice that saved his life, the smell of an ambush, the illusion of being bulletproof at nineteen, and the leadership principle that works in boardrooms and battlefields alike: lead from the front.
This episode will change how you think about stress, decision-making, and what the human body can do under extreme pressure. Dick’s wisdom applies far beyond combat—to every impossible choice and every moment you must decide whether to freeze or move.
Dr. Dick Thompson is a combat veteran, psychologist, Mensa member, and author of the Code Named Dynamite series. Today, he trains law enforcement, first responders, and special operations forces in stress management and high-performance leadership.

#90 - Rebecca Lemov: We're All Being Programmed
Watch on YouTube → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH9_XbfB-g8
What if the choices you make every day aren't really yours? Harvard historian Rebecca Lemov has spent decades uncovering the uncomfortable truth about free will, manipulation, and the invisible forces that shape human behavior, from Cold War brainwashing experiments to the AI companions whispering in our ears today.
In this eye-opening conversation, Rebecca reveals how modern technology has turned us all into subjects of the largest behavioral experiment in human history. She discusses the shocking rise of AI-induced delusion, why Silicon Valley executives send their kids to tech-free schools, and the personal breaking point that taught her no one is immune to influence.
This isn't just academic theory. Rebecca shares her own story of escaping a controlling relationship and addiction, the 10-day meditation retreat that felt like torture, and why she believes the nightmare of mass manipulation "isn't in the future, it's already here." But she also offers hope: practical strategies for protecting your mind, raising resilient children, and reclaiming the freedom we thought we had.
ABOUT THE GUEST
Rebecca Lemov is a historian of science at Harvard University and author of The Instability of Truth: How Brainwashing Shaped America. Her research explores the hidden history of behavioral control, from Cold War experiments to modern algorithmic manipulation. She's been featured on Joe Rogan and numerous podcasts examining the intersection of technology, psychology, and human autonomy.

#89 - Terry Bradshaw: From NFL Bench to 4 Super Bowl Rings
Watch on YouTube → https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XN3XJzI54A
Four Super Bowl rings. NFL Hall of Fame. America's quarterback. And yet, sitting alone in his Pittsburgh apartment after five brutal years, Terry Bradshaw was crying, and didn't know why.
This is the Terry Bradshaw story you've never heard. In this raw, hilarious, and deeply moving conversation, the original TB12 opens up about the breaking point that changed everything: a desperate prayer on a living room floor that built an invisible wall around his heart and transformed him from a struggling, benched quarterback into a leader who would never lose his starting job again. Terry reveals the cost of greatness, the booing, the benching, the "couldn't spell cat if you spotted him the C and the T" insults, and how faith became his secret weapon.
But this isn't just a football story. It's about a man learning to lead through vulnerability, calling his own plays while getting on one knee to honor his teammates. It's about three failed marriages before finding true love. It's about being an imperfect Christian who isn't afraid to say "I love me some Jesus." And it's about discovering that the greatest leadership sounds like love under pressure.
From barefoot walks to school in Shreveport to showdowns with the Raiders, from Hollywood Henderson's trash talk to standing in the Fox Sports booth today, Terry proves that authenticity beats perfection every time. He shares stories that will make you laugh (stealing Mr. Robinson's baseball glove), cringe (size 10 white cleats on size 12 feet), and tear up (his father saving him from a spanking to watch football).
This is Terry Bradshaw unfiltered: the discipline, the doubt, the depression, the ADD diagnosis that came too late, and the prayer that saved his career. It's a masterclass in resilience, faith, and the power of being honest about who you really are.
ABOUT THE GUEST
Terry Bradshaw is a Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback who led the Pittsburgh Steelers to four Super Bowl championships in six years (IX, X, XIII, XIV), calling his own plays and earning two Super Bowl MVP awards. The first overall pick in the 1970 NFL Draft, Terry spent 14 seasons transforming from a struggling young quarterback who faced brutal criticism to one of the most clutch performers in football history. After retiring, he became one of America's most beloved sports broadcasters, spending over four decades entertaining millions as a co-host of Fox NFL Sunday. Beyond football, Terry is a rancher, horse breeder, entrepreneur, and family man who has openly shared his journey with depression and ADD to help others. He currently lives with his wife Tammy, remains active in broadcasting, and continues to inspire through his authenticity, humor, and unwavering faith.
