Patricia Churchland: Why Do We Have A Conscience? Moral Intuition & Eliminative Materialism
Patricia Churchland is Professor Emerita of Philosophy at the University of California, San Diego and an Adjunct Professor at the Salk Institute. She holds degrees from Oxford University, the University of Pittsburg and the University of British Columbia. She has contributed to the fields of philosophy of neuroscience, philosophy of the mind and neuroethics. Her research has centered on the interface between neuroscience and philosophy with a current focus on the association of morality and the social brain. She has been awarded the MacArthur Prize, The Rossi Prize for Neuroscience and the Prose Prize for Science. She has authored multiple pioneering books has has served as President of the American Philosophical Association and the Society for Philosophy and Psychology.

Gregg Caruso is Professor of Philosophy at SUNY Corning, Visiting Fellow at the New College of the Humanities, and Honorary Professor of Philosophy at Macquarie University. He is also Co-Director of the Justice Without Retribution Network housed at the University of Aberdeen School of Law. Eric Schwitzgebel is Professor of Philosophy at University of California at Riverside. He received his B.A. in Philosophy from Stanford and his PhD in Philosophy from U.C. Berkeley. Ralph Lewis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto. He is a clinical psychiatrist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada and a psycho-oncology consultant at the Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto. Dr. Lewis writes a popular blog series, Finding Purpose, hosted and promoted by his hospital and publishes regularly on Psychology Today. Menachem Fisch is Joseph and Ceil Mazer Professor Emeritus of History and Philosophy of Science, and Director of the Center for Religious and Interreligious Studies at Tel Aviv University, and Senior Fellow of the Goethe University Frankfurt's Forschungskolleg Humanwisseschaften, Bad Homburg. He has published widely on the history of 19th century British science and mathematics, on confirmation theory and rationality, on the theology of the talmudic literature, and the philosophy of talmudic legal reasoning. His recent work explores the limits of normative self-criticism, the Talmud's dispute of religiosity, the possibilities of articulating a pluralist political philosophy from within the assumptions of halakhic Judaism, the history and philosophy of scientific framework transitions, and the theo-political roots of Israel's reaction against political Zionism.

Risto Miikkulainen: What are "Other" Minds? Neuroevoloution of Past, Present & Future Minds
Risto Miikkulainen is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin and AVP of Evolutionary Intelligence at Cognizant AI Labs. He received an M.S. in Engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology (now Aalto University) in 1986, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA in 1990. His current research focuses on methods and applications of neuroevolution, evolutionary computation, machine learning, cognitive science as well as neural network models of natural language processing and vision; he is an author of over 450 articles in these research areas. In 2016, he was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for contributions to techniques and applications for neural and evolutionary computation.

Raymond Tallis: Are We Destined for Freedom? A Case for Compatibilism & Ontological Agnosticism
Raymond Tallis is Professor Emeritus of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Manchester. He is a philosopher, poet, novelist, cultural critic, and a retired physician and clinical neuroscientist. He trained in medicine at Oxford University and at St Thomas’ in London and has 4 honorary degrees: DLitt (Hull, 1997) and Litt.D. (Manchester, 2001) for contributions to the humanities; and DSc (St George’s Hospital Medical School, 2015; University of East Anglia, 2017) for contributions to medicine. He was an editor and major contributor to two key textbooks in the field, The Clinical Neurology of Old Age and Textbook of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology and author of over 200 original scientific articles, including papers in Nature Medicine, Brain, Lancet. He has published fiction, poetry, and over 30 books on the philosophy of mind, metaphysics, philosophical anthropology, and literary and cultural criticism. Some of his works include: Aping Mankind (2010), Of Time and Lamentation. Reflections on Transience (2017; 2019), An Essay on the Mystery of the Sense-Making Animal (2018), Sunburst (2019), Seeing Ourselves. Reclaiming Humanity from God and Science (2020) and Freedom: An Impossible Reality (2021).

Nicholas Humphrey is Professor Emeritus of Psychology, London School of Economics, Visiting Professor of Philosophy, New College of the Humanities, & Senior Member, Darwin College, Cambridge. He has been Lecturer in Psychology at Oxford, Assistant Director of the Sub-department of Animal Behaviour at Cambridge, Senior Research Fellow in Parapsychology at Cambridge, Professor of Psychology at The New School for Social Research, New York, & School Professor at the London School of Economics. He is best known for his work on the evolution of human intelligence & consciousness. His books include "Consciousness Regained", "Leaps of Faith", "The Inner Eye", "Soul Searching", "Seeing Red", "Soul Dust" & many more. He has been the recipient of several honours, including the Martin Luther King Memorial Prize, the British Psychological Society’s book award, the Pufendorf Medal, the International Mind & Brain Prize, & is the only scientist ever to edit the literary journal Granta.

Keith Frankish: Is Consciousness an Illusion? Illusionism & its Ethical Implications
Keith Frankish is a Honorary Reader in Philosophy at the University of Sheffield, a Visiting Research Fellow at The Open University, & an Adjunct Professor with the Brain & Mind Programme in Neurosciences at the University of Crete. He is the author of "Mind and Supermind" & "Consciousness", as well as numerous journal articles & book chapters. He is the editor of "Illusionism as a Theory of Consciousness" & the co-editor of "In Two Minds: Dual Processes and Beyond", "New Waves in Philosophy of Action", "The Cambridge Handbook of Cognitive Science", & "The Cambridge Handbook of Artificial Intelligence". Keith’s research interests lie mainly in philosophy of mind, and he is known for defending an illusionist theory of phenomenal consciousness, an action-based account of conscious thought, and a two-level view of the human mind.

Lisa Feldman Barrett is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Northeastern University and is among the top one percent most cited scientists in the world for her revolutionary research in psychology and neuroscience. She also holds appointments at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where she is Chief Science Officer for the Center for Law, Brain & Behavior. In addition to the books "Seven and a Half Lessons About the Brain" and "How Emotions are Made", Dr. Barrett has published over 240 peer-reviewed, scientific papers appearing in Science, Nature Neuroscience, and other top journals in psychology and cognitive neuroscience, as well as six academic volumes published by Guilford Press.
