Heroes of Liberty

Bethany Mandel joins Chris & Christine to discuss her children’s book series called Heroes of Liberty. Bethany started Heroes of Liberty because she couldn't find books that were entertaining, engaging, story-driven, visually appealing AND full of love and admiration for the American values which made this country great. So, if you're concerned about the woke children’s literature infiltrating our schools and bookstores, then this podcast episode is for you. Bethany also shares her experience homeschooling five children in our nation's capital. Battle for the American Mind: Uprooting a Century of Miseducation

BONUS EPISODE: New York Times bestselling author and FOX News host Pete Hegseth joins Chris and Christine to discuss what he says is his most important book yet: A revolutionary road map to saving our children from leftist indoctrination. Battle for the American Mind is the untold story of the Progressive plan to neutralize the basis of our Republic. Pete Hegseth and David Goodwin explain why, no matter what political skirmishes conservatives win, progressives are winning the war—and control the “supply lines” of future citizens.  Reversing this reality will require parents to radically reorient their children’s education. Battle for the American Mind is more than a book; it’s a field guide for remaking school in the United States. We’ve ceded our kids’ minds to the left for far too long—this book gives patriotic parents the ammunition to join an insurgency that gives America a fighting chance. The State of Public Education

What is the state of public education? What will public schooling look like in the next 2 years? Or 5 years? These are the questions that Chris and Christine unpack alongside their guests, Julie and Nate Brumet. Julie and Nate have both worked in public education in the state of Kansas. Like so many teachers across the nation, Nate witnessed an alarming shift in education during the COVID-19 pandemic and decided to leave the profession. He was one of the only teachers in his district willing to stand up to the local school board and voice his concerns about forced masking. His wife Julie experienced similar issues with masking while trying to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) Students how to read during the pandemic. If you enjoyed listening to Nate and Julie’s story, please leave a rating or review. Power to the Parents: How to Regain Parental Control & Reject the One-Size-Fits-All Approach to Education

On this week’s episode of Making The Leap, Chris and Christine discuss the culture of parent empowerment they’ve found in a Christian school setting and contrast that culture to the veil of secrecy in public schools. Public schools are hiding information from parents and taking away their power. Elana Fishbein from No Left Turn in Education joins the episode to discuss the alarming curriculum shift she witnessed in her children’s public school system. Like Chris and Christine, Elana decided to pull her children out of public school and send them to a private school. As more and more parents reject the one-size-fits-all approach to education in the public school system, alternative education settings like Christian schools and home schools continue to grow. It’s up to parents to decide which alternative is the best fit for them and their children. For more information on Christian education, please visit HerzogFoundation.com. Parents vs. Teachers: Whose Children Are They?

On this week’s episode of Making The Leap, Chris and Christine focus on K-12 curriculum and who REALLY wields the power when it comes to children and their education.
