Rob Staton Show: Are the Seahawks close to a rebuild?
Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com, drops by for his weekly visit to talk Seahawks football with Jason “Puck” Puckett. And, once again they get right into the play off the offensive line and how poor it was against the Rams. Puck asks Rob if it’s fair to question whether the Seahawks got it right with Mike Macdonald? It was a topic Puck brought up yesterday with Danny Kelly of The Ringer and Rob wanted to respond. They both agreed that they didn’t know, which is ok to admit! They also wondered and discussed that it’s not fair to fully evaluate offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb because Grubb is only getting to a fraction of his play sheet because of the issues along the offensive line. They also discussed the trade market for D.K. Metcalf and if it makes sense in the offseason to consider moving on from Metcalf if they determined that they need to be in rebuilding mode. Puck thinks an offseason rebuild needs to be on the table if they continue to lose games, especially the next three. Is it worth spending money on a receiver and a quarterback if you don’t have an offensive line to protect them? How much times does John Schneider have? probably more than you think.

Ryan Divish Show: Mariners closest Seattle team to a championship? Should they trade a young pitcher?
Ryan Divish, Seattle Times is back to join Jason “Puck” Puckett, for the Mariners “Cold Stove” Offseason Report. They quickly dive into the M’s biggest offseason needs, which are improving the infield and specifically second base, however, there is not much talent out there on the free agent market, nor do the M’s feel propelled to trade one of their young pitchers to upgrade that position. Ryan calculated, along with Adam Jude of the Seattle Times, in their most recent “Extra Innings” Podcast, that the Mariners have between $20-25 million to spend on free agents for the upcoming season. Divish explains to Puck why he doesn’t think the M’s will trade one of their young pitchers and says if they do end up trading a pitcher, the most likely pitcher to be dealt would be Luis Castillo. Divish asked Puck a great question during the show, of the major professional teams in Seattle and they included Husky football, and the Seahawks, Mariners and Kraken. Who is the closest to winning a championship? They both agreed it’s probably the Mariners!

Daily Puck Drop : Please stop saying D.K. won't be traded. Time for a Seahawks rebuild? Mariners close to a World Series? Guests: Ryan Divish, Seattle Times and Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com
On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett is riding solo as Jim Moore, who usually joins on Wednesday’s had to attend to a personal matter, but Puck rolls on as he welcomes his regular weekly guests, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times and Rob Staton, SeahawksDraftBlog.com Puck opens up the show with his criticism of local reporters who claim that the national media was and is just making up a story about D.K. Metcalf and perhaps being traded. As Puck points out it’s the same group that claimed that Russell Wilson was never going to be traded and anyone that ever brought that up was uneducated and didn’t have a clue about the situation because they weren’t “local” and didn’t have boots on the ground. It’s just inaccurate to say that the Seahawks didn’t listen to offers. They obviously didn’t have an offer they liked so that’s why they didn’t trade him, but to suggest that reporters like Mike Garafolo, NFL Network, who joins Puck every week or Adam Schefter of ESPN just simply made up a story is just complete nonsense and Puck can’t understand why they didn’t learn their lesson from the Wilson trade. Puck, Jim and Paul get into the debate of whether they should be pulling for the Huskies in their remaining games of the season? Paul and Puck are adamant that Cougar fans should be pulling for UW the rest of the season, but, Jim can’t bring himself to rooting for the Huskies. It gets heated between the three! They welcome Jamey Vinnick from Cougfan.com to discuss the rankings and get an update on the team, including kicker Dean Janikowski, who suffered a broken hand, most likely coming from his incident with a San Diego State player. They chat about Dickert’s future and react to a clip from John Canzano on the contract situation with Dickert and the fact that some in upper campus at WSU may be put off about giving him a new contract with the current climate. Cougs Corner: WSU basketball coach David Riley. New look team. Changing landscape of college athletics. DNA of team?
This weeks Cougs Corner with Jason “Puck” Puckett welcomes WSU basketball coach David Riley, who is preparing for his first season as the new Cougars head coach. Riley and Puck chat about the upcoming game on November 21 in Spokane featuring the Cougs and Eastern Washington. Proceeds of the gate will go and support the Cougar Collective. One thing you will notice right away is a more up tempo offense that has a very European feel to it. Riley goes through all the new players on the team and gives Puck a scouting report on each one. They also get into the changing landscape of college athletics and that its geared more towards a younger coach, but the demands of a coach and his staff are vey different and it’s something that Riley hopes the NCAA can regulate in the future.

John Canzano Show: Coug fans, root for UW. Can WSU keep Jake Dickert? Why has civility been lost in society?
John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com, drops by to talk all things college football. Do the Cougs have a realistic shot at 11-1 and squeaking into the College Football Playoff? What did Canzano think of Jim Moore’s thoughts about not rooting for UW, despite it benefiting the Cougars. Puck reiterates how crazy Jim is for thinking this way. Jake Dickert has been consistent to wanting to only coach ten more years and he’s made it clear that he wants it to be in Pullman. What is his contract status? Jim has all the info from inside the building on his current deal and what a future deal could deal could look like. When USC and Jen Cohen decide to fire Lincoln Riley, who does John think she will call first? Three big names and all with Northwest ties. Finally, John and Puck talk about how society has lost its civility and its ability to communicate and interact with one another. Latest examples were the Jason Kelce incident at Penn State and Joel Embiid with a Philadelphia columnist.

Can Ryan Grubb and the offense really get to their playbook if they can’t actually block?Puck asked Danny if after nine games it’s fair to question whether the decision to hire Mike Macdonald was the correct one? The team has been as sloppy as they have ever been. Is that the result of coaching? What about the future of Seahawks GM/President John Schneider? Under his tenure they have failed to address the offensive line and have had no plan at quarterback since Russell Wilson left. If they can’t turn this around in the next year or two, Schneider will find himself out of a job. Lastly, Danny answers your fantasy football questions as it’s “Waiver Wire Tuesday”.

Daily Puck Drop: Don't be a Jim Moore, root for UW to win. Fair to question Mike Macdonald hire. Guests: Danny Kelly, The Ringer. John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com
On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett was joined by his weekly guests, Danny Kelly, The Ringer and John Canzano, JohnCanzano.com Puck starts off the show talking about the Washington State Cougars chances of making the College Football Playoffs as the first rankings come out on Tuesday night. Puck reacts to the show on Monday where Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy, would rather see the Huskies lose all their games rather than win, which would help out the Cougars. Puck thinks Jim and any Cougars fan that thinks that way is crazy. You already beat them! If the Huskies beat Penn State and Oregon it makes the Cougars win look better. It’s an absolute no brainer to root for Washington. Danny Kelly, The Ringer, who covers all things NFL pays Jason “Puck” Puckett a visit and they look back to the Seahawks loss to the Rams and the things they could have done better to secure the win. Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast: Offensive line worst in Seahawks history. Would you turn to Sam Howell?
Puck goes back to the Seahawks as Tim Booth , Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13 join Puck for the Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast. Once again they focus in on the awful offensive line play and until that ever fixes itself, the team will continue to lose games like they did on Sunday to the Rams. They discuss the decision by Mike Macdonald to go for it on fourth down in overtime. Tim and Curtis liked the decision, Puck offered up an alternative and thought he should have trusted his defense more. What is going on with Connor Williams and why can’t he snap the football anymore? How much is that now affecting Geno Smith?Speaking of Smith, do the guys ever foresee a scenario where Sam Howell starts a game this season over Smith? The final eight games of the season will be tough and you can make a plausible argument that they won’t be favored in those games. Lastly, why has the team been so sloppy this season? That’s a direct reflection on Mike Macdonald.

Daily Puck Drop: Sam Howell time? Worst Seahawks OL in team history. Cougs shot at College Football Playoff. Guests: Jim Moore, Go-2-Guy. Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast w/ Tim Booth, Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree, FOX 13
Today’s Daily Puck Drop with Jason “Puck” Puckett, welcomed Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy, who joins Puck every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Also, Tim Booth of the Seattle Times and Curtis Crabtree of FOX 13 drop by for their Monday weekly show, Ground Puck Seahawks Podcast. Jim and Puck jump right into the Seahawks miserable loss and continue to just shake their head at how bad the Seahawks offensive line is. It is without a doubt the worst offensive line in the history of the organization and you can’t really get all that critical of Ryan Grubb or Geno Smith because they can’t get to any of the plays they truly want to run because of how bad the line is. Despite the struggles of the offensive line, Puck and Jim did resist their bet that they made in the beginning of the season where Jim bet Puck $250 dollars that Sam Howell would start a game this season and not because of injury. Puck said he still feels confident in that bet, but he thinks the door is a little bit more open especially with the teams upcoming schedule. Speaking of that schedule, Puck points out to Jim that it’s highly likely that they won’t be favored in any of their remaining eight games. After talking about the Seahawks, they turn their attention to the Cougars, who will find themselves ranked in the top 20 of Tuesday’s first College Football Playoff rankings. ESPN analytics gives the Cougs a 17-percent chance of making the playoffs and if they win their remaining four games, that figure jumps up to 34-percent. Puck and Jim are reveling in the idea that they have shot to make it, but also acknowledge that it wouldn’t be realistic if it weren’t for the schedule they have played. However, Jim is not rooting for the Huskies at all. Jim doesn’t want to see Washington beat Penn State or Oregon, even though it helps the Cougars resume. He’d rather have the Cougs just miss out on the playoffs. Puck thinks Jim is officially crazy. That’s a direct reflection on Mike Macdonald. Finally, Puck wraps up the show with “Hey, What the Puck!?” Cougar fans! Have fun with all the playoff talk. Revel in it. You never know who long it will last. The team has put themselves in a position this season to give themselves a shot. That has been awesome to watch develop!
